No Legend of Dragoon?!?!?!?!?!? I am disappoint T_T Legend of Dragoon was one of the best RPG's I've ever played, and that still hold true t this day, despite it's age :D

Yes! Crash Team Racing LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE. Absolutely brilliant game. Along with the other Crash games on PS1. This list needs Wild ARMs though. Fun fact: Did You know Wild ARMs did 3D before FFVII? Just the battles were in 3D, but still. :)

I still believe that Pro Skater 1 was better than Pro Skater 2. Pro Skater 1 had much more level variety. It had downhill levels, skatepark levels, and the competition levels were also better. THPS2 had barely any level variety. Oh wait, but Skate Heaven and Chopper Drop! You could say that, but those are only two levels, and you could only unlock them by beating the Career mode with all of the skaters. Chopper Drop had to be unlocked by getting all gold medals with all of the skaters. Who has time for that!? I don't care about the manual, character creator, or the skatepark editor. Those were features that were added upon in the newer games, and were quite shit in THPS2. TL;DR: THPS1 was better than THPS2 because of level variety. The added features in THPS2 weren't enough to hold me over.

Pretty bold move not including Final Fantasy VII... Symphony of the Night was too high as was Tactics. I (along with the rest of America) was too busy playing VII to have gotten immediately to Tactics. Resident Evil 2 could have easily taken the #2 spot.

Oh yeah, CTR was one of the better games I played on the system. It's a shame you guys didn't mention Mega Man Legends on neither this list nor the N64's, but overall these lists nail both systems for why they're so great. Even by today's standards.

top 3 Metal Gear Resident Evil 2 Syphon Filter (1 or 2, can't remember which was better)

Sorry, but a 'Best PSX Games' list without FFVII is just incomplete. That's a fact.

    Fanboy

for good reason, everyone is a fanboy now as soon as they adore something. leaving 7 and 8 out for some of the tosh that is on there definatly makes it incomplete

Spyro: Ripto's Rage and CTR WERE my childhood! I just recently replayed Ripto's Rage and let me tell you, the experience was like coming home after being away for many many years. <3 It was beautiful! CTR was always my go to game when I had my friends over. We'd spend hours and hours acing each other! Thank you for including them on your list, it does my heart good to know they are as loved by others as they are by me! <3 Week of Love baby, Week of Love.

Ape Escape being on this list makes me happy, since I love the games, Castlevania:SotN I had a scratched copy but it was still awesome, finally in the case of FF7 I am glad you didn't put it down seeing as it would conflict with your list of games that don't deserve nostalgia, but I downloaded my copy off psn to see what all the hype is about and I will play it sooner or later. finally from what I have seen it looks like FF:Tactics is good SRPG so should I get the Ps1 version or Psp version.

If i had made this list Medievil would have most certainly been number in my opinion its was the best PS1 game ever and i still play it now on my psp.

I never could get into FFIX. Orko being in it but not being named Orko pissed me off. PLEASE don't perpetuate the false theory that FF Tactics has any redeeming qualities. It is literally one of the biggest POS'es ever made for the PSX. I understand what an "opinion" is, but when it's as bad as Tactics, there are no other valid opinions. It's an embarrassment all around. Ape Escape sucked. It was revolutionary, but revolutionary =/= good. Not surprised it was on the list, but glad that Parappa was on here. I admit at first I didn't like the idea of it. But as soon as I played it, I was hooked. Just never mention UmJammer Lammy. I would love to have seen a "most memorable" list as well. Would be great to show some recognition for Battle Arena Toshinden, Rayman (that actually can be filed in the top games list), Air (Pre-Ace) Command and some game called Resident Evil. And of course, FFVII was groundbreaking.

I see you hate on Tactics alot but everyone says its good, so do you just dislike SRPG's in general or just this one game and why?
  • SketchLemon - April 18, 2012 11:03 p.m.

Bloody Roar 2 was the first fighting game where I stopped button mashing and started learning special moves. It's probably never gonna be in any 'best of' lists, but it'll always be in my heart. Oh Uriko, how I miss you <3

No mention of the Mega Man Legends series? For shame GR, for shame... Inclusion of Spyro 2 and CTR makes up for it a bit, but still.
  • Elkril - April 18, 2012 10:10 p.m.

    What about Parasite Eve?
  • BaraChat - April 18, 2012 9:12 p.m.

I've never owned a PSOne, but I've played more than a few games, the best of which was Symphony of the Night, closely followed by THPS2 and MGS. Good list though, that might entice me to try a few more (via PS3/PSN, mainly).
