A long lost Star Wars: Return of the Jedi trailer has hit the web

Cinema has changed quite a bit since 1982; For one thing, these days trailers are an important and more often than not slickly put together component of modern movie marketing. As this recently unearthed trailer for Star Wars: Return of the Jedi - or Revenge of the Jedi as it was called before George Lucas changed his mind - illustrates, that wasn't the case 30 years ago.

Check it out below...

We sure have come a long way from promos that are comprised of nothing but movie stills and logos! It's also amusing that this trailer spoils the return of Harrison Ford's Han Solo after he was frozen in carbonite in The Empire Strikes Back. In that regard, I guess some things never change...

Directed by Rian Johnson and starring Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Laura Dern, Mark Hamill, Adam Driver, Gwendoline Christie, and Benicio del Toro, Star Wars: Episode 8 opens in cinemas on December 15, 2017.
