The best Amazon Prime Day iPad deals 2025: the biggest early sales available now
Prime Day iPad deals will return on July 8
Amazon has just confirmed its 2025 Prime Day iPad deals will land from July 8 - July 11, in a four-day event. What's more, the retailer's official announcement also makes plenty of space to shout about its back to school offers, a good sign for those upgrading to an iPad ahead of the new semester.
The big ones to watch in this year's sales are the 10th Gen iPad and 11-inch iPad Air M3. Both of these models launched at mid-range price tags, but have seen those numbers dip down to far more reasonable positions in recent times. The former is currently the oldest in the lineup, ready to offer the highest bang-for-buck value in Prime Day iPad deals. Meanwhile the latter is a new release that's already seen unseasonable savings in its short life so far.
I've been tracking Prime Day iPad deals for over five years now. I've seen generations come and go, and watched their prices rise and lower the entire time. That means I know which devices are likely to see this biggest discounts this year, and what represents an actually good deal. I'm sharing everything I expect to see from this year's summer sale just below.

iPad A16 (128GB) | $349 $299 at Amazon
Save $50 - The latest A16 11th generation iPad has taken a $50 discount ahead of Prime Day at Amazon. That's $8 away from a record-low I've only ever seen during a particularly brief (one day) flash sale back in May.
iPad Air M3 11-inch | $599 $549 at Amazon
Save $50 - I have seen the iPad Air M3 as low as $499 in recent months, but we're only down to $549 here. That means there's still wiggle room on Amazon's current price, but this is definitely one to watch as we get closer to Prime Day iPad deals.
iPad Air M3 13-inch | $799 $699 at Amazon
Save $100 - The 13-inch iPad Air is $100 off ahead of Prime Day, and that means we're back down at a record-low price here. I've never seen this larger model cheaper, but other colorways are starting to jump back up in price. That means stock could already be struggling.
iPad Pro M4 11-inch | $999 $909 at Amazon
Save $90 - The M4 iPad Pro has been a little cheaper in the past, but only by $10 and not since the end of last year. There's certainly a little extra wiggle room in this final price, but this is still a solid early Prime Day iPad deal.
What to expect from Amazon Prime Day iPad deals in 2025
Prime Day iPad deals surprised us with record-low prices on new and old releases alike last year - and things are already looking good for this summer's event. Many of the models featured in previous sales have already stacked additional discounts in the first months of the year.
10th Generation iPad
The latest base model iPad launched at a lofty $449 / £499 but those days are thankfully over now. Apple announced a price reduction on this model last year, dropping that MSRP down to $349 / £349. Considering this tablet was on sale for $399 in previous Prime Day iPad deals that's big news.
Last year's savings took us to a fantastic $299 sales price in the US, a rate I've seen matched and beaten in regular discounts since and over Black Friday last year. In fact, this tablet has dropped as low as $259 in the past, and has been spotted hovering around that rate as recently as April this year. That's where I'm placing my bets for Prime Day this year.
Once again, things are a little stiffer in the UK, though I have seen that £329 RRP finally give way to heavier discounts in the last few months. Prime Day last year only gave us a £20 discount on this tablet, but those numbers have dropped down to £259 in March. Considering day-to-day prices (when in stock) hover at around £269 at the moment, I'm confident we'll see a return in July.
11th Generation iPad
Apple iPad 11th Gen | Available at Amazon
MSRP: $349.99 / £329.99
Expected price: $279 - $299 / £309.99
The 11-inch Generation iPad hit the shelves in March, which means it's only going to be three months old by the time Prime Day rolls around. I'm not saying we won't see discounts on Apple's new budget entry, but they're certainly not going to reach the $199.99 lows we saw on the 9th Generation last year.
So far, the $349 / £329 128GB tablet has only ever nudged just over $50 / £20 off its MSRP, making its way down to $291 back in May but generally only ever sticking to a $299 sale price. That rate has been pretty sticky, though, holding out for weeks at a time over the last few months. I'm confident we'll at least see it back in action for this year's Prime Day iPad deals, if not with an extra $20 knocked off the final cost.
Discounts have been slower in the UK, though we do seem to be seeing a fairly permanent drop to £309 these days. If previous years are anything to go by, we're not going to see an improvement on that price for another year yet. The 9th Generation model followed the same pricing structure and didn't drop into the £200s for years after its release. I'm going conservative on this one, it's still going to be over £300 on Prime Day.
iPad Mini
The latest iPad Mini launched towards the end of last year so the A17 version didn't see too many discounts. Instead, focus was on the older 6th Generation model, which is now off the shelves.
The good news is that $499.99 / £499.99 MSRP has dwindled in more recent months. Over in the US, it's dropped as low as $399 this year so far, with enough regularity to make it a likely bet for Prime Day's price. Meanwhile, the UK has seen its own share of savings, with the device hitting a record-low of £429 in March and holding that position for just over a month.
Given how sturdy these savings have been this year so far, I'm expecting them to return for Prime Day - though it might still be too soon for larger price cuts.
iPad Air
The new 11-inch iPad Air M3 was fairly quick to drop to $549.99 in the first few weeks of its life, before kicking things a little further to $499.99 in May. That's pretty much where it's stayed for the last few weeks. Normally, the length of that discount would have me believing we're in for a larger saving when Prime Day iPad deals eventually hit. However, I generally only ever see iPad Air models dropping to $499.99 at their lowest in their first year. This is still a recent release - any further savings would be limited to an extra $10 off, but that's still unlikely.
The larger model has also seen similar savings, dropping to $749 shortly after launch and trickling further down to $699 in the last few weeks. That's already cheaper than the previous generation was in last year's Prime Day iPad deals, so I'm expecting a return to this position in the summer.
Over in the UK, the 11-inch model has only just started to see its own major savings. The £599 RRP has only started to slide in the last few weeks, giving way to a record-low £559 rate. I'm not expecting too many improvements over that position in the coming weeks.
The larger device has been a little more forthcoming, after launching at £799.99 earlier this year. Those numbers trickled down to £765 a few weeks later, and have been stuck at around £750 since the end of May.
iPad Pro
The iPad Pro M4 is still holding its position on the shelves, but that doesn't necessarily mean larger price cuts. This line holds its value particularly well, with devices only really moving beyond $100 - $200 / £100 discounts when they come to the end of their lives.
That said, the 11-inch model has been firm on its current $899 sale price for some time now, even if it's never been cheaper than that rate. The 13-incher has dipped below $1,000 for the first time this year as well, hitting $987 back in May when it's normally $1,099 day to day. Considering the regularity of that existing $200 discount, I'm holding out hope for a dip down to $999 on this one come Prime Day. That saving could in itself nudge the cheaper version down to $799 as well.
I've only ever seen the £1,199.99 11-inch model drop to £1,124.97 once and that was a particularly rare offer. Yes, this one has been on sale since the start of May but before that we were full-RRP all the way. That means this could be as good as it gets for the summer sale.
Over in 13-inch land, I've seen as much as £200 off the M4 iPad Pro, but that was a particularly brief flash sale. In general, this £1,499 device only ever hits £1,400 - £1,405 in day to day discounts, though it has spiked down to £1,349 twice this year. I'm optimistic here - we could well see that price return on Prime Day.
Amazon Prime Day iPad deals FAQ
When will Prime Day iPad deals start?
Amazon has now confirmed that Prime Day will take place from July 8 - 11 in 2025, that's a four-day event running over the second week of the month.
Do you need Prime for Amazon Prime Day iPad deals?
The short answer is yes, you'll need an Amazon Prime membership to take advantage of this year's offers. However, there's a longer answer in here as well.
If you're not planning on picking up a new subscription for the sale, it's worth noting that other retailers often try to compete with the global online giant, launching their own sales over the same two day period. That means you'll find many of the best Prime Day iPad deals price matched at a range of other sites. In the US, we'd recommend keeping an eye on Walmart, Best Buy, and Target, and in the UK we expect Currys, Very, and Argos to get involved as well.
Of course, you can always keep things simple and shop in one place without paying for the necessary Prime membership. Amazon often offers Prime free trials around its sales as a way to encourage more shoppers, so time it right and you could be browsing the virtual aisles without having a paid subscription.
Which iPad should you buy on Amazon Prime Day?
Thankfully, the current iPad lineup is easy to navigate in terms of who each model is aimed at. Apple's luxury tablets span from $300 to well over $1,500 in some cases, but not everyone is going to need the power of those premium Pro models. Whether you're hunting through this year's Prime Day iPad deals for work, streaming, or study, we're showing you exactly which models you should be looking for in this year's sales just below with plenty more information on each device further down the page.
iPad 10th Gen / 11th Gen | Web browsing, streaming, light gaming |
iPad Air | Note-taking / study, heavier gameplay |
iPad Mini | Web browsing, streaming, and gaming on the move |
iPad Pro | Demanding apps, content creation, multi-tasking |
What are the latest iPad models?
The iPad models you need to watch out for this Prime Day are the following:
iPad 10th Gen
iPad 11th Gen
iPad Mini 7th Gen (A17)
iPad Air M3 (11-inch)
iPad Air M3 (13-inch)
iPad Pro M4 (11-inch)
iPad Pro M4 (13-inch)
What time of year is cheapest to buy an iPad?
In general, the absolute cheapest time to buy an iPad is when its next-generation model has just released. This is when we see the heaviest discounts on each device (just look at the rates on the M1 iPad Air over the last few weeks of its life). However, these savings only last a very short amount of time and stock is incredibly fast-moving. If you're looking to buy a new generation iPad, the cheapest times of the year are July, October, and November.
July typically hosts Amazon Prime Day and November carries the full weight of Black Friday / Cyber Monday. However, Amazon has also been doubling up its Prime Day efforts in recent years, adding another sale in October. In general, these events later in the year will yield slightly lower prices on iPads than the summer. Each tablet has been on the shelves a few months longer, and the holiday shopping frenzy can sometimes squeeze those rates even further.
So when should you buy an iPad? If you're looking for the absolute lowest price possible and you don't need a new device right away, I'd recommend waiting for Black Friday. However, the price differences aren't major, and considering there's generally only around $50 in it, those who need a tablet sooner rather than later wouldn't be fools to shop in the summer.
