Amazon Prime Day iPad deals are in their second day now, so the clock is ticking to grab these record low prices before the fall sale event is out. We're seeing some excellent discounts across the range, with some of the lowest prices we've seen on everything from budget 9th generation models to storage-laden Pros. Today's Prime Day iPad deals will come to an end at midnight, though, so now's the time to pounce.
The iPad Air and iPad Mini are the frontrunners so far, enjoying record low prices across their base configurations. However, there are plenty of discounts on more premium Pro models and the entry level 9th generation to entice big or small spenders alike.
Because we've been keeping a close eye on iPad savings for a long time now, you can rest assured we're only gathering the deals that are actually worth your time. Sure, they're not the most traditional Prime Day gaming deals... but considering that Apple make some of the best gaming tablets on the market, we're always searching for those record-low prices nonetheless.

FAQ
When will October Prime Day iPad deals end?
Amazon's Big Deal Days sale will only run until the end of October 11, which means you've got until midnight tonight to finish up and head to checkout. All isn't lost if you do sleep on these offers, though, with Black Friday iPad deals just around the corner we have a feeling many of these prices will be back on the shelves before the year is out.
Do you need Prime for Amazon Prime Day iPad deals?
The short answer is yes, you'll need an Amazon Prime membership to take advantage of this year's offers. However, there's a longer answer in here as well.
If you're not planning on picking up a new subscription for the sale, it's worth noting that other retailers often try to compete with the global online giant, launching their own sales over the same two day period. That means you'll find many of the best Prime Day iPad deals price matched at a range of other sites. In the US, we'd recommend keeping an eye on Walmart, Best Buy, and Target, and in the UK we expect Currys, Very, and Argos to get involved as well.
Of course, you can always keep things simple and shop in one place without paying for the necessary Prime membership. Amazon often offers Prime free trials around its sales as a way to encourage more shoppers, so time it right and you could be browsing the virtual aisles without having a paid subscription.
Which iPad should you buy on Amazon Prime Day?
Thankfully, the current iPad lineup is easy to navigate in terms of who each model is aimed at. Apple's luxury tablets span from $300 to well over $1,500 in some cases, but not everyone is going to need the power of those premium Pro models. Whether you're hunting through this year's Prime Day iPad deals for work, streaming, or study, we're showing you exactly which models you should be looking for in this year's sales just below with plenty more information on each device further down the page.
iPad 10.2-inch | Web browsing, streaming, light gaming |
iPad Air | Note-taking / study, heavier gameplay |
iPad Mini | Web browsing, streaming, and gaming on the move |
iPad Pro | Demanding apps, content creation, multi-tasking |
What are the latest iPad models?
The iPad models you need to watch out for this Prime Day are the following:
10.2-inch iPad (9th generation, 2021)
iPad Mini (6th generation, 2021)
iPad Air (5th generation, 2022)
iPad Pro 11-inch (4rd generation, 2022)
iPad Pro 12.9-inch (6th generation, 2022)
2021 iPad
The base level iPad is always the go-to for any a deal-hunter. With a relatively affordable price tag, and a jack of all trades nature, it's the perfect starter device for anyone who just needs to browse the web, stream some content, and play some lighter games. Bumping up to a 64GB base storage (the previous generation only offered 32GB), the 2021 model has been a little more stubborn to price drops than its ancestors.
Thankfully we've seen that price crumbling even further than its predecessors in 2023. The lowest we've spotted so far was $249.99 in Amazon's July Prime Day event, which gives us plenty of hope for a similar offer come the fall sale. That beats last year's Prime Day iPad deals by a full $30 for a full $80 off the $329.99 64GB price point.
Over in the UK, things aren't looking so hot. The 2021 iPad took an age to start dropping its price tag across the Atlantic, sticking close to a £319 RRP for most of its first year. We did see some reprieve in July's Prime Day sales, though - in the form of a £299 sale price.
iPad Air
The 2022 iPad Air 5th generation launched in March last year, but its discount history is a tale of two countries. The US has the better end of the deal, we've spotted the Air dipping down to $499.99 this year already - several times. That means we're optimistic for a return to form in October, even if prices are jumping between this $500 position and $550. We could well see an improvement on this cost if everything goes according to plan - $479 isn't out of the realm of possibility, but if we do see a new record low you'll need to be fast to grab it.
Things aren't quite as exciting in the UK. Already starting at a higher £669 RRP, the Air has only ever reached £569 in previous sales, though the blue colorway was briefly at £512 in June last year. It's likely you'll be spending between £549 and £569 on an iPad Air in this year's Prime Day iPad deals, though we're hoping for more should stock flood the shelves.
iPad Mini 6
The iPad Mini 6 doesn't quite have the same urgency behind it as the 10.2-inch model. We don't see annual refreshes on this line and there's still some serious value packed into that price proposal. Still, in the US we've seen Black Friday's $399.99 rate holding onto the shelves well over the last few months, sticking around as the record low price. That's a $100 discount we would expect to see more of over Prime Day, though not one we expect to be beaten while there's no new model on the horizon.
We haven't seen the UK's record low £459 price on the iPad Mini 6 in some time, with the 64GB model holding onto a sales figure of between £465 and £475 for most of its life so far. That means we would expect to see that £20 discount over the £479 RRP return in the fall, though it would be slightly too optimistic to expect anything more from this year's iPad Mini deals.
iPad Pro
The 11-inch iPad Pro hasn't beaten Black Friday's record low $729 price at Amazon in 2023 just yet. Considering that discount was just a weeks after release, though, we're hopeful for something a little more special in this year's Prime Day iPad deals. $699 is a position that could easily make some headlines, and one we may well see should the summer sales prove kind. Still, if that extra saving does appear, you'll need to move fast.
The 12.9-inch model has been playing very close to its previous generation. We saw that $1,099 MSRP give way to a $999 sale price in Black Friday's sales, the usual discounted rate for the 2021 generation before it. It wasn't until this latest line was released that the previous model started to shift beyond this $100 discount, so we're expecting a similar response in October. That said, we usually see far meatier savings further up the storage scale - sometimes out-pricing models with fewer gigabytes to their name.
The 11-inch iPad Pro hasn't quite dropped as far as the previous generation in the UK before, only ever hitting £849 for a £50 discount. However, other retailers have been adding in extra subscription offers and bundle deals, so it's well worth keeping a close eye across the full web when the time comes in October. We're not anticipating Amazon going much further than this already established record low.
Meanwhile, the 12.9-inch iPad Pro price has remained steadfast, never straying more than £50 away from the £1,249 RRP in the UK. This is a particularly stubborn one, so we would be surprised to see costs dip down past £1,000 - we're expecting £1,199 here.
