New Super Mario Bros 2 is coming so much sooner than you think, hitting stores August 18, the same day as the 3DS XL in the US. But even with the game breaking new ground for Nintendo by being available for download the same day, but it will also be the first Mario game to have post-launch, paid DLC. It involves the Coin Rush mode that's detailed below...
As Reggie mention in the Nintendo Direct event, the team behind NSMB2 is working on brand new levels for inclusion in the paid DLC, but won't be starting on them till after the game launches. Reggie didn't commit to prices or release dates for this DLC, but we'll be very interested to see how this plays out, as it could shape Nintendo's approach to DLC for the rest of its existence.
