Christopher Eccleston To Star In New HBO Telefantasy Pilot
Former Doctor Who will be one of The Leftovers in a new Damon Lindelof show
Christopher Eccleston has landed a new role in a new US telefantasy pilot for HBO called The Leftovers (not sure about the title – any show that immediately makes you think of a plate full of uneaten cabbage is going to face an uphill struggle).
According to Deadline , the story is set after Rapture… and centes on the people who didn’t make the cut and are left behind in a very different world (presumably left with only Simon Cowell shows to watch on TV).
Eccleston will play Matt Jamison, former Reverend and current editor of his self-published tabloid. Coon will play Nora Durst, a wife and mother who is suddenly neither. Dowd will play Patti Levin, leader of the local chapter of the Guilty Remnant, an organisation that is somewhere between a cult and a movement. Warren plays Lucy Warburton, a take-no-prisoners mayor. Theroux plays the chief of police.
Eccleston’s previous US TV role was as invisible man Claude in five episodes of the first season of Heroes.
