The Avengers gag reel arrives and it's awesome: watch now

The Avengers has released a brilliant gag-reel online ahead of its upcoming release on DVD and Blu-ray, and it seems to confirm that filming on the superhero smash was every bit as fun as we'd imagined.

And so we're treated to the sight of Thor miscontrolling his hammer, Hawkeye getting the giggles and Tony Stark repeatedly slapping Bruce Banner on the backside.

And then there's Chris Evans, who just can't seem to get the hang of a simple parachute. Looks like that plan for saving the world is going to have to go on ice.

Best of all however, is Tom Hiddleston's Alan Rickman impression, a vocal technique that every villain worth his salt ought to be able to get his head around. It's very chucklesome indeed…

Yep, it certainly looks as though The Avengers was a blast to film. And even though Jeremy Renner was commenting recently about his displeasure over Hawkeye's presentation, it's good to know that he at least had a few laughs along the way.

The Avengers will assemble on DVD and Blu-ray on 17 September 2012. The Hulk will be smashing up your living room in less than a month!

UPDATE: The gag reel video has now been removed .
