Star Trek is a series with a long history of actor cameos - a tradition that thankfully sounds like it will continue with the upcoming Star Trek: Discovery. Speaking to Collider, Discover producer Alex Kurtzman said that fans should expect some familiar faces to show up over the course of the show.
"So many actors are fans," Kurtzman said. "We literally got a list of them that were like, 'Here are people who said they want to be on Star Trek.' It was awesome… To just be in an episode or come in or out."
Of course, Kurtzman wouldn't say which actors were on the list; that would ruin the surprise. But Star Trek has featured everyone from Parks and Rec star Adam Scott…
To Seth MacFarlane (who will be starring in his own Trek-style parody called "The Orville")...
And even Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson!
If Discovery can secure such great moments as these, I'm onboard.
