The Switch 2 Mario Kart World bundle just got its best discount yet, but not in the US

The Nintendo Switch 2 has dropped in price for only the second time in the UK, and the timing is impeccable. We're just nine weeks away from the holidays (I can't believe it either), and the new Ninty handheld is destined to be a hot-ticket gift item for the kiddos and nerdy adults alike.

The Nintendo Switch 2 Mario Kart World bundle launched for £429.99, but it just dropped to £409.99 at Amazon, a saving of 5% off that hefty MSRP. Sure, 5% isn't a lot in the grand scheme of things, but £20 is still a decent saving, and it's even cheaper than its current discounted price of £415 at EE, which only swipes £15 off the bundle's UK launch price.

Save £20 - I'm not sure if it's an accident or a very early Black Friday gaming deal, but the Nintendo Switch 2 Mario Kart World bundle just received another discount in the UK today. It's only 5% off, but even saving £20 off the pricey £429.99 MSRP is a blessing in disguise, especially as the holidays are right around the corner.

Buy it if:

✅ You want a Switch 2
✅ You're a big Mario Kart fan
✅ You prefer a larger 7.9-inch display
Your older Switch is on its last legs

Don't buy it if:

❌ You'd rather the Pokemon Legends Z-A bundle
❌ You're not a Nintendo game fan

US: $499.99 at Amazon

Remember, this version comes with a redeemable code for Mario Kart World, which is perfect holiday game fodder for the family. Though I can't promise you'll keep your relationships intact after using a blue shell or two.

Should you buy the Nintendo Switch 2 Mario Kart World bundle?

It's hard not to bring up the fact that gaming is pricier than ever right now, especially where Nintendo is concerned. So if you're musing over the idea of grabbing a Nintendo Switch 2 for a loved one (or yourself), you can save the most by buying the standalone handheld for £392.95 at Amazon, but you won't get any Switch 2 game alongside it.

That's not a major biggie if you already own a Switch, as you can play the majority of your existing game library, physically and digitally, on the new handheld thanks to its handy dandy backwards compatibility. Personally, I grabbed the Mario Kart World bundle at launch as I wanted to experience a game specifically designed for the new console, and it worked out cheaper than buying the game physically.

Mario Kart World was released for £74.99 here in the UK, and when you included the £395.99 MSRP of the console, that amounted to £470.98. At launch, grabbing this bundle instead meant a saving of £40, which I put towards other Nintendo Switch 2 accessories like the Nintendo Switch Online GameCube controller.

You can now pick up the latest Mario Kart game for around £59.99, so grabbing this bundle deal today will save you £45.99 as opposed to buying them separately.

Of course, you might not be a Mario Kart fan, in which case you could opt for the new Switch 2 Pokemon Legends Z-A bundle, which launched earlier this month, and is likely what's to thank for this new discount. As it's so new, it's still £429 at Currys, but you're still saving over £36 over picking up the game and handheld individually.

Hardware Editor

Ever since I first held a NES controller in my hand I've been obsessed with gaming, and the hardware it runs on. I could hook up a NES and SNES to a telly, without instructions, before I could walk. Even now, nothing is more exciting then taking a console, or handheld, out the box for the first time and setting it up. This obsession transformed into a love of games and game music, which lead to my music degree and dream of becoming the Scottish Nobuo Uematsu. After sharing my love of games through music, I began to share my love through words on sites like TechRadar and iMore. This lead to becoming a Hardware staff writer for PCGamesN, and later the Senior Tech Writer for Dexerto, covering all things Steam Deck, PlayStation and Nintendo. With that experience, I was able to level up as Hardware Editor for GamesRadar+, where I'm still just as Nintendo, PlayStation and gaming tech obsessed as ever.
