Prime Day Steam Deck deals 2025: early handheld discounts ahead of the sale
Early Prime Day Steam Deck discounts are live.

Early Prime Day Steam Deck deals are upon us, and they are more vital than ever in 2025. Arming the handheld with new gadgets is going to help its abilities shine, whether you're looking for a hybrid experience that can take on the Switch 2 or more storage.
I'm fully expecting all the best gaming handhelds to be included in Prime Day gaming deals in 2025, but all eyes will likely be on the Steam Deck. It's worth underlining that you'll have to go straight to Valve for discounts on the handheld itself, and the PC giant does like to chop 15% off its devices seasonally. However, if it's accessories, storage, and even rivals you're after, Amazon will have you covered until July 11 when the four-day event ends.
The event won't officially kick off until July 8, 2025, which happens to be tomorrow. But, there are already plenty of Steam Deck accessory deals kicking off ahead of time, and many of them don't even require a subscription. So, if you'd rather snatch some savings now, there are ways to do it without conforming to specific sale times (you little rebel, you).

Jsaux 65W USB-C charger | $25.99 $17.99 at Amazon
Save $8 - Trust me, even though the Steam Deck comes with a charger, you'll want a spare. That's especially true if you have a dock since you won't want to disrupt your setup when traveling constantly, and this 65W adapter is ideal for under $20. It also happens to be a record low price, so well worth jumping on while it's down.
Buy it if:
✅ Your default charger is attached to a dock

Don't buy it if:

Save $10 - This specific Steam Deck dock is a staple accessory, and under $20 is exactly where I want it to be. I've yet to spot it for less during sale periods, and even though you don't need Prime for this discount, I doubt a subscriber-only offer will knock anything else off.

Don't buy it if:
❌ You need more than two USB ports
❌ You'd prefer DisplayPort

When do Prime Day Steam Deck deals start?
Prime Day 2025 will kick off July 8, and the event will take place over four days until July 11. Originally, the sale used to take place on a specific "day", but it has evolved into a week-long event that even ends up with a sequel the following October.
What to expect from Prime Day Steam Deck deals 2025
Last year, Valve got somewhat ahead of the curve by offering up to 15% off the Steam Deck 64GB and 512GB models weeks before Prime Day. The reason for this was likely to clear space for the Steam Deck OLED, so it makes sense that such discounts haven't emerged this year.
That said, it's highly likely that Valve will offer up discounts in line with Prime Day, as it's serve as a nice way to win back attention following the Nintendo Switch 2 launch. Last year, the 64GB and 512GB dropped to $296.65 and $381.65 respectively, which could mean the cheapest LCD model and new 512GB OLED will drop in price instead. If that happens, we might end up with the former coming in at under $300, whereas the premium model is more likely to sit under $500.
As for what you'll be able to grab using your Prime subscription, you should be able to grab sweet savings on docking stations, cases, and more. Our current favorite dock, the Baseus 6-in-1, dropped to just above $30 last year, setting a new record low for the add-on. Jsaux also showed up to the bargain bin party, with its dock diving from $39.99 to $25.99. The event has also proven to be a good time to look out for things like wireless earbuds, and we were digging discounts on Asus' ROG Cetra buds that brought them down to $79.99.
Just like when your grandma calls every vacuum a Hoover or every console a Nintendo, sometimes the best Steam Deck deals aren't on Steam Decks. By that, I mean Amazon's sale could be a perfect opportunity to pick up an alternative like the Asus ROG Ally or Lenovo Legion GO. I'd be surprised if both don't end up available for under $500 this year, especially since a new generation of devices like the ROG Xbox Ally are en route.
Fresher portables like the MSI Claw 8 AI+ and Asus ROG Ally X may end up cheaper too at a bunch of retailers, including Amazon, but I'd advise putting any price cuts into perspective. The last thing you want to do is to invest heavily in a premium portable only for it to be succeeded by a higher-spec variant a few months later, and that's incredibly likely since next-gen AMD chips are now making their way into devices.
