The PS5 Hyperpop Collection has popped onto PS Direct, bringing the first new limited edition looks to the PS5 lineup. Unveiled earlier this month, this new limited edition release is rolling out on March 12, 2026. But those in the US and UK can pre-order the collection ahead of time right now.

The collection in question features eye-striking new Techno Red, Remix Green, and Rhythm Blue PS5 controller colors, which are available for $84.99 / £74.99 at PS Direct US and UK. With this new drop, there's sadly no PS5 bundles to be found, but you can instead grab any of the three matching console covers available for $74.99 / £64.99 for your Slim model to unify your gaming setup in these fresh new colors.

The collection dropped on January 16 at 10am local time, so those lucky enough to be in the UK got first dibs. However, now any US PS5 fans can also add some striking dabs of color to their Sony setups.

When is the PS5 Hyperpop Collection release date?

The PS5 Honeypop Collection launches today on January 16, 2026 at 10am local time at PS Direct.

Is the PS5 Hyperpop Collection only available at PS Direct?

During the original unveiling of the PS5 Hyperpop Collection on the PS Blog, Sony stated that the new PS5 DualSense controllers and Console covers would be available at PS Direct and "participating retailers." For now, the controllers have appeared at other online stores like Very, Argos, and ShopTo in the UK, but the console covers remain a PS Direct exclusive for now.

If and when they appear at other US and UK retailers, I'll be sure to update the page so you have more options when it comes to buying this new limited edition release.

Is Sony launching PS5 consoles with the Hyperpop colors?

Sony has made no mention if plans to launch the PS5 Slim, or even the PS5 Pro in any of the three available Hyperpop Collection colors. For now, if you want a Sony console to have the bright Techno Red, Remix Green, or Rhythm Blue colors, you'll instead have to grab a Slim console and one of the new Hyperpop Collection console covers.

Ever since I first held a NES controller in my hand I've been obsessed with gaming, and the hardware it runs on. I could hook up a NES and SNES to a telly, without instructions, before I could walk. Even now, nothing is more exciting then taking a console, or handheld, out the box for the first time and setting it up. This obsession transformed into a love of games and game music, which lead to my music degree and dream of becoming the Scottish Nobuo Uematsu. After sharing my love of games through music, I began to share my love through words on sites like TechRadar and iMore. This lead to becoming a Hardware staff writer for PCGamesN, and later the Senior Tech Writer for Dexerto, covering all things Steam Deck, PlayStation and Nintendo. With that experience, I was able to level up as Hardware Editor for GamesRadar+, where I'm still just as Nintendo, PlayStation and gaming tech obsessed as ever.
