Anyone who spent far too much of their time cultivating a bizarre digital habitat for the Miis on the 3DS are in for a treat as Tomodachi Life Living the Dream is launching on the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 on April 16.
Pre-orders are available for $59.99 (Amazon) / £44.99 (Amazon), and those of you based in the UK were able to get a Magnetic Photo Frame as a free bonus. The acrylic photo frame has since disappeared from the official Nintendo store, likely as stock has long since been allocated, but it's not all doom and gloom. The closer we've gotten to the game's release, a ton of UK retailers, including Amazon, Very, and Argos have dropped the game by £5, letting UK Switch players grab it for just £44.99 instead of its full £49.99 price. That's a lot better than a piece of plastic, at least in my eyes.
Otherwise, Nintendo has kept pre-orders easy this time around. Tomodachi Life Living the Dream is a Nintendo Switch game, so there's no red-colored Switch 2 boxed copy or game-key card to consider. Any of you Switch 2 players just need to grab the Switch copy instead, and I've rounded up all the US and UK sites where you can find them down below.
Tomodachi Life Living the Dream US pre-orders
Tomodachi Life Living the Dream | $59.99 at Amazon
Amazon was a little late to drop its own Tomodachi Life Living the Dream pre-order, but you can now grab it for its full $59.99 MSRP at the US retailer, and take advantage of speedy Prime delivery if you're a member too.
Tomodachi Life Living the Dream | $59.99 at GameStop
GameStop was the first of the US retailers to drop their Living the Dream pre-orders on the Switch, and you can grab it for its full $59.99 MSRP right now. Don't expect it on release day through as the page states it can take 2-3 business days to arrive at your door.
Tomodachi Life Living the Dream | $59.99 at BestBuy
BestBuy if your best bet in the US if you're eager for that physical Nintendo Switch copy and want to get the game on release day. Pre-orders dropped pretty fast at the US retailer shortly after the direct, and you can pre-purchase the game and arrange a pickup on the day just to be certain too.
Tomodachi Life Living the Dream UK pre-orders
Tomodachi Life Living the Dream | £44.99 at Amazon
Amazon UK was a little late at dropping its Tomodachi Life Living the Dream pre-orders. However, UK Switch players' patience has been rewarded as the game is only £44.99, a whole £5 off its full £59.99 price, and it's not even out yet.
Tomodachi Life Living the Dream | £49.99 at Nintendo
The official Nintendo online store was one of the first places to drop its Tomodachi Life Living the Dream pre-orders, and there used to be a Magnetic Photo Frame free gift shown off on its product page. Any mention of it has now since disappeared, but you can still grab your physical copy from Nintendo regardless.
Tomodachi Life Living the Dream | £44.99 at Very
Very is one of the more underrated UK retailers, but it can be a little late to the party where new Switch game pre-orders are concerned. The wait can be worth it, as it's Tomodachi Life Living the Dream pre-order listing is finally up at just £44.99 too.
Tomodachi Life Living the Dream | £44.99 at Argos
Nintendo Switch copies of Tomodachi Life Living the Dream took a few weeks to pop up at Argos, but the Switch game is now available at the classic UK retailer, and at the discounted rate of £44.99 a copy too.

Weekly digests, tales from the communities you love, and more

Ever since I first held a NES controller in my hand I've been obsessed with gaming, and the hardware it runs on. I could hook up a NES and SNES to a telly, without instructions, before I could walk. Even now, nothing is more exciting then taking a console, or handheld, out the box for the first time and setting it up. This obsession transformed into a love of games and game music, which lead to my music degree and dream of becoming the Scottish Nobuo Uematsu. After sharing my love of games through music, I began to share my love through words on sites like TechRadar and iMore. This lead to becoming a Hardware staff writer for PCGamesN, and later the Senior Tech Writer for Dexerto, covering all things Steam Deck, PlayStation and Nintendo. With that experience, I was able to level up as Hardware Editor for GamesRadar+, where I'm still just as Nintendo, PlayStation and gaming tech obsessed as ever.
