Deck Nine and the Life is Strange team is debuting new gameplay for Life is Strange: Reunion at the Future Games Show Spring Showcase Powered by HyperX this week.
Due to drop late this month on March 26, Reunion, as the name suggest is all about seeing iconic Life is Strange characters Max and Chloe come together 11 years after the original Life is Strange.
"From the small taste fans will see in the Future Games Show on March 12, this thrilling emotional story isn't just about picking up the threads of the past, it's also about choosing a new path forward for Max and Chloe - if you can guide them through a fiery weekend first!" says the Life is Strange team to us here at GamesRadar+.
This non-episodic release is doing a few things differently, too.
"It's also the first time we've had two playable protagonists in a single game, making for a fascinating opportunity to get inside both Max and Chloe's heads as they work their way back to one another, letting you see Caledon University - and each other - in a whole new light."
To bring back the much-beloved duo is an interesting choice, but for the Life is Strange team, it was an easy decision because their relationship is so iconic.
"They reflect and refract in endlessly interesting ways: Chloe the brash and outspoken punk who turns her anxieties into strengths; Max, the shy observer of human nature, whose power to Rewind time allows her to affect reality without anyone knowing," adds the Life is Strange team.

"They counterbalance, they challenge, they bring out the best in each other. They've got so much history - and trauma - in their shared past, going back to childhood… but this story is about how much they've changed in their time apart, and if they can fit back together in the new shapes into which they've grown. Whether they will reunite as BFFs or romantic partners, of course, is entirely up to you."
"And despite Max having the world-changing supernatural power, Chloe’s forceful personality is enough to make them equals – which is reflected in the weight of the choices they’ll both have to make in this game. Max and Chloe each have major decisions to take, and secrets to uncover, that directly impact who lives and who dies. As the tension rises towards the emotional finale, your choices about Chloe and Max’s relationship have never mattered more."
"We believe, and as everyone will see from the gameplay reveal, Max and Chloe have always stayed in people's hearts because we can see parts of ourselves in them: their excitement, their pain, their goofiness, their qualities, and their flaws. Many of us remember young love; many of us have been dealt a harsh hand by inescapable reality. And, like Max and Chloe, we've all been forced to make impossible choices throughout our lives, unsure of the consequences. Their story is a fantastic one, but it's one that resonates deeply. The future we've wished for them is perhaps the one we've always wished for ourselves."
Set to air on Thursday, March 12, the Future Games Show Spring Showcase Powered by HyperX is kicking off at 13:00 PT/ 16:00 ET / 20:00 GMT, and will be followed by an additional show live from the show floor at GDC in San Francisco. You can watch the whole thing on Twitch, YouTube, Steam, X, TikTok, and right here at GamesRadar+.
