How to get the Animal Crossing Zelda villagers, Mineru and Tulin

Mineru and Tulin are new Animal Crossing Zelda villagers you can invite to stay on your island using amiibos, but you need specific amiibos for each villager. They behave like any other Animal Crossing New Horizons amiibo in that you need to pay a visit to the Nook Stop to get them scanned, letting you invite them to your campsite. But both characters have 16 compatible Zelda-themed amiibos, so if you're an amiibo aficionado, hopefully you've got at least one for Mineru and one for Tulin. Below I've explained exactly how you can invite these Zelda villagers to your New Horizons island as well as which amiibos you need.

To invite these Animal Crossing Zelda villagers to your island, you need to activate a Legend of Zelda amiibo in your game, but the amiibo you tap determines which villager you get. Start by heading to Resident Services and logging into the Nook Stop terminal. Select the 'Invite amiibo Camper' option, then follow the instructions to tap your Legend of Zelda-themed amiibo on the control stick of your Switch's right Joy-Con.

Check the list below to see which amiibos you can use to invite snooty deer Mineru or jock bird Tulin:

Depending on the amiibo you tapped, you'll then see a message pop up that gives you the option to invite Mineru or Tulin to your island's campsite. Allow them to visit and they'll camp like normal, giving you the chance to speak to them and potentially invite them to stay if you're persistent. Furthermore, by tapping one of these amiibos, you will unlock a whole range of Animal Crossing Zelda items to order at the Nook Stop.

However, just in case the option for inviting Mineru or Tulin isn't popping up, make sure you've got the Animal Crossing New Horizons 3.0 update installed – here's how to update Animal Crossing New Horizons if it isn't automatically updating.

There's plenty more to the 3.0 update if decorating is more your thing than villager hunting, with Animal Crossing Slumber Islands letting you create entirely new islands to decorate in your dreams and the Animal Crossing Hotel letting you furnish hotel rooms to attract island visitors.
