Destroy Destiny 2 Beyond Light Entropic Shards using the Salvation's Grip Grenade Launcher to complete the Aspects of Control and Destruction. Completing both of these short Destiny 2 quests as part of the Born in Darkness questline will get you new Aspects to power up your Stasis Subclass. There are nine of these small shards of Darkness, and they're all pretty well hidden in some areas of Europa. For the Aspect of Control quest, you'll need to destroy only five of them, although you'll need to destroy the remaining four shards for the Destiny 2 Aspect of Destruction quest.

Born in Darkness

The Destiny 2 Born in Darkness questline is quite long but incredibly important as you'll get new Stasis powers

To shatter these Entropic Shards, you'll need the Salvation's Grip Exotic Grenade Launcher, which you can acquire from a straightforward quest offered by the Drifter at the end of the Destiny 2 Beyond Light campaign. With Salvation's Grip gripped, just fire a shot at any shard to destroy it - no other forms of Stasis or damage can destroy them. It's also important to note that Entropic Shards are account-based, not character-based, which means you only have to destroy all of them once - if you've destroyed all nine, any quest steps that involve destroying Entropic Shards will be skipped if you play on another character.

Here's a full list of all nine Destiny 2 Entropic Shard locations:

  • Asterion Abyss
  • Concealed Void (Lost Sector)
  • Cadmus Ridge
  • Creation
  • Eventide Ruins
  • Bunker E15 (Lost Sector)
  • Riis-Reborn Approach
  • Kell's Rising
  • Technocrat's Iron

In Asterion Abyss, head over to the large Vex structure in the middle of the area and start climbing up it. Once you get near the top, make sure you're on the north side of the structure and you should eventually find the Entropic Shard tucked at the top - shoot it with Salvation’s Grip and move onto the next shard.

Destiny 2 Concealed Void Entropic Shard location

Head inside the Concealed Void Lost Sector to reach the next Destiny 2 Entropic Shard - the entrance is underneath the large Vex structure in Asterion Abyss. Get to the final boss room and look up into the soft beam of yellowish light in the center. You should see an Entropic Shard floating in the light, ready to be destroyed.

Destiny 2 Cadmus Ridge Entropic Shard location

Head over to Cadmus Ridge, specifically towards the entrance to the Bray Exoscience facility in the west of the region. If you're facing the facility entrance, you should see a signal antenna to the right. Head over to the antenna, then look in the nearby nook formed by the ice cliffs and you'll spot the next Destiny Entropic Shard.

Destiny 2 Creation Entropic Shard location

The ninth Destiny 2 Entropic Shard is found in Creation, far into the Bray Exoscience facility. Head through Exoscience as normal until you reach the large, hall room. Go into the side rooms on the right and head through the door on the right wall that leads down a corridor and further into Bray Exoscience and eventually Creation. Keep progressing through Creation until you reach a gigantic factory area with several bridges and platforms lower down. You need to jump to the first bridge and then look over the far edge to spot the Entropic Shard floating above the platform below. Hit it with a shot from Salvantion's Grip to get rid of it.

Destiny 2 Eventide Ruins Entropic Shard location

Travel to the Eventide Ruins and head to the open platform in the east where the Crux Convergence Destiny 2 Heroic Public Event often takes place. On the south side of this platform is a wrecked bridge and you'll find the Entropic Shard underneath the wreckage.

The Destiny 2 Entropic Shard found in Creation is deep within the Bray Exoscience facility.

Destiny 2 Riis-Reborn Approach Entropic Shard location

Destiny 2 Beyond Light Entropic Shards

For this Destiny 2 Entropic Shard, go to Riis-Reborn Approach by taking the gravity lift up from Eventide Ruins, and then head all the way through the area until you reach two diverging paths inside a building. Take the lower path to the right - you might need to break a Stasis-sealed forcefield to get through - and then head up another gravity lift. As soon as you reach the top, you'll right in front of some stairs that lead up. Instead, you must go around the back of the stairwell and you'll find the shard underneath near a crate.

Destiny 2 Kell's Rising Entropic Shard location

Destiny 2 Beyond Light Entropic Shards

From the Riis-Reborn Approach shard, head up the stairs and use the teleporter to reach a new area. Follow the path until you eventually reach another fork - you can go straight ahead or follow the path around to the left. Go straight ahead and you'll eventually reach an exterior section and Kell's Rising.

Keep going through Kell's Rising and platform your way up and around the structures until you reach an area with a red and black pipe linking to a large platform and some other buildings. Cross over to this platform and then hop up to the building on the right. On the roof of this building is a little set of stairs leading up to a catwalk and under these stairs is where you'll find the Entropic Shard.

Destiny 2 Technocrat's Iron Entropic Shard location

Destiny 2 Beyond Light Entropic Shards

Like the Kell's Rising shard, the Technocrat's Iron Entropic Shard is a bit of a trek to reach. If you were just at the Kell's Rising shard, backtrack your way to the diverging path that you reached just after using the teleporter. Take the left path instead and you'll soon reach Technocrat's Iron and another exterior section.

Cross the buildings and pipes to reach the train track area of Technocrat's Iron and then follow the train tracks through the building. By following the lower set of tracks, you'll get to a platform which leads joins to another corridor that you need to go down. You'll emerge into a large arena (if you've completed the 'Reclaiming Europa' mission, it's where you fought the huge Factory Brig boss) with four towers, and the Entropic Shard will be on top of the right tower closest to you.
