The Mandalorian and Grogu is getting a prequel comic to fill in the gaps from season 3
The Mandalorian and Grogu: Danger in the Dark is the first original Mandalorian comic
The Mandalorian is getting its first official comic – and it will serve as a prequel to The Mandalorian and Grogu.
The Mandalorian and Grogu: Danger in the Dark will fill in the gaps to let us know what the duo has been up to since the end of The Mandalorian season 3 before the events of the movie kick off. You won't be able to read the comic until after you've seen the movie, though, as it hits shelves on July 22, two months after the film is released.
"A hidden danger looms deep beneath the surface of Nevarro and it’s up to the Mandalorian and Grogu to stop it!" reads the official synopsis.
Article continues below"Joined by a courageous crew of Anzellan friends, Din Djarin and his foundling venture into the lava tubes underneath the city to defuse a crashed pirate ship, facing creepy creatures and perilous obstacles along the way. But with the planet’s safety on the line, can Grogu learn to listen to Mando’s guidance? And can Mando balance teaching Grogu with letting the little guys lead?"
The Mandalorian and Grogu is the first Star Wars movie in seven years, but it's on track to bring in even less at the box office than Solo, the lowest-grossing film in the franchise, over its opening weekend. It's projected to make $80 million over Memorial Day Weekend, whereas Solo made $103 million in its opening weekend back in 2018.
The Mandalorian and Grogu arrives in theaters on May 22. In the meantime, get up to speed with our guide to all the other upcoming Star Wars movies and shows.
