Spidey Tracker is a meta ARG featuring Ned Leeds, officially launches alongside second Spider-Man: Brand New Day trailer tomorrow
Follow Spider-Man around the world with the Spidey Tracker
Spider-Man: Brand New Day's second trailer is set to swing online tomorrow, but ahead of our latest glimpse at Tom Holland's wall-crawler, a new ARG experience has been revealed, bringing Ned Leeds' search for Spider-Man into the real world.
Over at SpideyTracker.net, you'll find the 'fan-powered' tracker – a recreation of Ned's own custom website from Brand New Day, which Peter Parker's memory-wiped bff uses to monitor Spidey sightings around New York in the hope of tracking him down. The real-life tracker will similarly monitor Spidey appearances around the world, as Holland and co. embark on their global media blitz over the next 6 weeks. But don't take our word for it, let Ned explain…
Technically, of course, this is a bit of business synergy between the Sony and Samsung corporations, with Peter and Ned set to use a variety of Samsung Galaxy gadgets in the new Spider-Man movie (not Apple fans, eh?) But the tracker has a fun and practical use, as it should help identify if the Spider-Man: Brand New Day promo tour is swinging into a location near you. Spidey is set to appear at "live events and venues, [in] creator videos and different locations around the world," per the press release. The tracker goes live on June 17, at 3PM ET/8pm BST.
It's a huge week for Marvel's webhead. The highly anticipated second Brand New Day trailer drops online tomorrow, hot on the heels of a new synopsis, which teases a "power villain no one can even see." You may already know what to expect, however, as the second trailer somehow leaked online last week, and has been doing the rounds on social media ever since.
The first Spider-Man: Brand New Day trailer released on March 18, following a global 24-hour livestream. The trailer was so widely viewed, it smashed records, and even eclipsed the trailer views for GTA 6. But despite being a month and a half out from release, we still don't know for sure who Sadie Sink is playing in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, though we have our theories.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day releases in theaters on July 31, with early Prime screenings on July 29. In the meantime, get up to speed on the rest of Marvel Phase 6 with our guide to the other upcoming Marvel movies and shows.
