Cyclops fancasting favorite says he's not in the MCU X-Men movie
Cooper Hoffman denies he'll play Cyclops
A new X-Men movie is in the works at Marvel, and fancasting favorite Cooper Hoffman has denied he'll be involved as Cyclops.
"Oh, not gonna be me, but I love the X-Men. Not for any reason, it's just not – I don't know where this came from. Shit spreads," he told Entertainment Tonight.
When asked if he'd be interested if the fans had a say, Hoffman said: "Of course. They don't, but I wish they did. I wish they had more of a say. I love X-Men, I've been watching since I was a kid. It would be such an honor."

Cyclops will soon be seen in Avengers: Doomsday, played by James Marsden. Other Fox-era X-Men, like Ian McKellen's Magneto and Patrick Stewart's Professor X, are also returning – though the new X-Men movie will be starting fresh.
"I'd say there were actually more parameters on Thunderbolts because it was plugging into an existing arc and existing characters, whereas with X-Men, Kevin [Feige] just wants to take a big swing and start anew, not be beholden to any of the movies that have come before," screenwriter Lee Sun Jing has previously teased.
So far, though, there are no plot details on the new movie, and we'll probably have to wait until after Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars to find out more.
Doomsday arrives this December 18. Next up for Marvel is Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which is out today in the UK and July 31 in the US.
