As James Gunn's DC Universe continues to expand, we're still in the dark about two of the big three that fans want to see appear in it.
David Corenswet's Superman might be holding down the Fortress of Solitude, but we're still none the wiser about whom the Dark Knight of the DCU is, or the Wonder Woman that'll be fighting alongside them both.
For some time, one name that has long been rumored to be in connection with the part of Diana Prince is Andor and Hit-Man star Adria Arjona.
The last time her name came up in DC-related hubbub was in April, when it was reported that she was set to play Maxima in the Superman sequel, Man of Tomorrow. Gunn, however, shot those rumors down, suggesting that wires had certainly been crossed, even though other outlets had already reported this. What better person to ask to clear up all the information, then, than Arjona herself?
During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the actress was asked outright if she was picking up the lasso of truth or not, and her only (and pretty reasonable) reaction was to make like a woman with a superhero identity and walk away from the conversation entirely. "I'm going to go now," she said before jokingly returning and giving as much detail as she could on the upcoming project that she's mysteriously attached to.
"I love James so much. Funny that you ask me that, James gave me my first movie ever. The first movie I ever stepped on was a James Gunn and Peter Safran movie. They are family, and I am so happy to be part of the DC universe."
So, whatever part that might be still has yet to be revealed. The good news is that, since SDCC is happening this week, we might get some big announcements, which could include a little clarification on Arjona's part in the upcoming super-sequel. We'll just have to see if she makes an appearance via invisible jet or not.
