In keeping with D&D tradition, there is a rather robust character creator that gives you the power to choose everything from your character's class to what deity they'll worship. What's cool is that you'll be able to use any of the characters you create for your main quest or trade to your friends.
Right now, Atari is optimizing the painfully long load times. Other than that, Tactics is shaping up to be quite the promising title. Hopefully the game's progression will continue to improve as February draws near.
