Tackling his most challenging role to date, Danny Dyer tries to follow the likes of Mitchum and De Niro into the mind of an escaped psychopath.

You have to feel sorry for Anna Walton (the princess in Hellboy II ), playing a nurse kidnapped at knifepoint by Dyer’s grinning, boyish loon and forced to drive around London’s famously deserted streets (cough) while he mugs and swaggers his way throughan undoubtedly committed but unfortunately misguided performance.

Still, writer/director J.K. Amalou’s mockney rehash of The Hitcher would be duller without him.
