You can do this at the very begging of the mission. Once you’re in control of the AC-130, don’t destroy any of the tanks and simply wait for three of them to cluster. It’ll take about sixty seconds for the tanks to group close enough.
Nein

Kill 9 enemies with A-10 strafing runs in “Scorched Earth.”
The 9 kills do not have to be in a single A-10 strafe run. Take as many runs as you need and focus on the soldiers instead of the tanks. Eventually a stream of soldiers will come from the building across the street. Know that as soon as you take out the third tank, the checkpoint triggers and you’ll have to restart the entire mission if you want another go at this.
No Assistance Required

Complete a Special Ops Mission Mode game on Hardened or Veteran with no player getting downed.
You can unlock this on the short mission “Mile High Jack” fairly easily. Make sure to grab the AA-12 shotgun early on to make things even easier. Note that you must do this on co-op for it to count.

Serrated Edge

Finish a Juggernaut with a knife in Special Ops.
Start up the “Toxic Paradise” spec ops mission. You’ll run into a Juggernaut on your way to get the last two samples. Put a fair amount of bullets into him, then stun him with your flash grenade. He’ll be harmless for a moment, so run up and start stabbing. If he doesn’t die by the time he recovers, throw another flash and try again.

Strike!

Kill 5 enemies with a single grenade in Single Player or Special Ops.
Start up “Persona non Grata” from Act I. At the beginning of the level, you’ll have to defend the courtyard as enemies stream in through the front gate. You can try and lob a grenade from the window where you begin, but it’s better to wait until you’re at ground level. Follow Soap downstairs and run out of the building and over to the front gate as quickly as you can. Cook a grenade and toss it just as the first group of enemies start streaming in.
Survivor

Reach Wave 10 in each mission of Special Ops Survival mode.
Not too difficult, especially with a friend. It’s only a matter of the time commitment and leveling up enough to unlock all of the missions. There are 16 missions, and you need to reach level 25 to unlock them all.
The Best of the Best
100G/Gold
Complete the campaign on Hardened or Veteran difficulty.
If you’re achievement/trophy hunting, we recommend going for Veteran and avoiding Hardened since the former is playable immediately. There are no other achievements connected to Hardened difficulty, but there are plenty for Veteran.
It’s going to take a lot longer to complete the game on Veteran, as just a couple bullets can kill you. Be patient and take cover, though it’s important to find a balance between this and moving at certain points, because sometimes enemies will keep coming until you move up. Remember to use your grenades and equipment, and swap out your pistol with something better whenever you can.
The Big Apple

The Darkest Hour

Tactician

You earn one star in a spec ops mission by completing it on regular difficulty level (with the exception of “Stay Sharp”). Simply complete all missions on regular to unlock this achievement.
This Is My Boomstick

Kill 30 enemies with the XM25 in “Black Tuesday.”
You begin the chapter with an XM25 in your secondary weapon slot - do not drop it. There are three areas where the enemies are concentrated: at the first roadblock where the trucks and chopper show up, in the store where enemies stream in from the street, and the stock exchange floor. If you run out of shells, there is an ammo crate just inside the entrance to the stock exchange.

What Goes Up…

Destroy all the choppers with only the UGV’s grenade launcher in “Persona Non Grata.”
You’ll get a chance to remotely control the UGV near the end of the mission. Save your grenades for the choppers, as you only have the 24, and you may need a few practice shots to get the hang of the projectile arc. Attack choppers need to be hit twice and carrier choppers once.
