Xbox 360 version of Call of Duty: Black Ops outsells PS3 version in the UK

GFK Chart-Track data has confirmed that the 360 version of CoD: Black Ops outsold the PS3 version in the UK. We'll take a wild, crazy, totally unjustified guess and say that this is probably also the case in North America. Would that surprise you? OF COURSE IT WOULDN'T. It's so unsurprising that this article only serves as flame war kindling. There, I said it!

OK, just kidding. There is some information worth informing you of, such as that, according to the report, PC (boxed copies), DS and Wii only claimed 3% of Black Ops' sales. Well, I don't know if that was worth informing you of, but it is kind of funny.

Right, so about the 360/PS3 war. The PS3 version of Black Ops wasparticularly buggy, and though Treyarch has been busy patching it, perhaps that contributed to it claiming 42% of UK sales to the 360's 55%. But probably not. We'd guess that it's just because more consumers own 360s - in July of 2009, Chart-Track reported 3.9 million 360s sold in the UK. The PS3 did not surpass 3 million until last January, according to Sony. So, there's that.

And anyway, we all know that the PC is the superior system. Just kidding, again! Play it on whatever you want! But the 360's upscaling does look like ass when you put it next to the PC version's clear-as-day 1080p, so if you're a PC loyalist and are the type to start arguments about this kind of thing, here's some ammunition courtesy of Eurogamer.

But please don't. Or, if you do, be sure to do it in the commentsof this article so that we can translate your self-importance and my dismissive sarcasm into traffic.

...I'd punctuate that with an evil laugh sound, but I don't have one on hand, so this'll have to do.
