Having toiled in the licensee fields cranking out highly competent adaptations of others' IP, Shantae was WayForward's first original property. The Game Boy Color title garnered a cult following despite suffering from its host platform's increasing obsolescence (the game sat alongside Mario and Metal Gear on our list of top GBC titles). When the sequel, Shantae: Risky's Revenge, emerged for DSi, we only called it “the perfect platformer.” Now that WayForward has finished work on well-received licenses like Aliens: Infestation and Bloodrayne: Betrayal, it's finally had time to line up the iOS version of Risky's Revenge, which will be available tomorrow, Oct 27.
