Teaser trailer for Luc Besson's The Lady online

Yesterday we had a poster for The Woman , today we have a trailer for The Lady .

The Lady is the latest offering from acclaimed director Luc Besson, the creative maestro behind classics such as Leon and The Fifth Element . The subject matter of The Lady however, is an usual choice for the Frenchman best known for his action cinema efforts.

Telling the life story of pro-democracy activist, Aung San Suu Kyi (Michelle Yeoh), the film portrays how she left her home in Oxford in 1988 to visit her sick mother in Burma.

Becoming involved in the country’s politics in attempt to help it in its struggle against an oppressive leadership, she was forced into house arrest.

During this time she struggled herself with her long-distance relationship with her husband, the writer Michael Aris ( Harry Potter’ s David Thewlis).

She was only allowed to leave the house for the first time in 2010. Her husband had died of cancer in 1999.

Being a teaser, there’s really very little on display here besides a few inspirational shots and some beautiful Burman scenery.
