Rumour: Don Cheadle to appear in The Avengers: Age Of Ultron

The Avengers: Age Of Ultron may be about to pluck another supporting player from one of its subsidiary franchises, with Don Cheadle’s War Machine said to be appearing in the new film.

HitFix reports that Cheadle will have a significant part to play in the sequel, with his character having “a key role in the conflict with Ultron that is the main focus of the sequel.”

The report goes on to suggest that “major changes” are coming for the Avengers, so could Rhodes be about to make a play for a permanent spot in the lineup?

Cheadle was on excellent form in his recent Iron Man 3 outing, using his comic timing to excellent effect in a number of buddy-movie scenes with Robert Downey Jr. More of the same would be very welcome indeed...

Directed by Joss Whedon and introducing new additions Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen, The Avengers: Age Of Ultron will open in the UK on 1 May 2015.
