Cosmopolis , the latest film from David Cronenberg, opens in cinemas this week, and features a potentially game-changing performance from Robert Pattinson.

The role of billionaire Eric Packer - who's caught in an interminable limo ride across Manhattan in pursuit of a haircut, while his financial empire and personal security face an onslaught of threats - could help Pattinson escape the pop culture shackles of Twilight ’s Edward Cullen.

It’s a brave performance in a brain-bruising movie. We caught up with Pattinson to ask about working with Cronenberg, his future in franchises, and the superhero he’d most like to play.
