Get together at upcoming fan events near you

Will you be at HAL-CON, London MCM Expo and BristolCon? We're attending, so please come and join us!

There are three conventions coming up in the next few weeks – they're very different, but they have one thing in common. SFX will be at them in one form or another!

HAL-CON

Where: The Lord Nelson hotel, Halifax (Nova Scotia, Canada)
When: Friday 29 October to Sunday 31 October
What's there?: HAL-CON 2010 is the first science fiction, fantasy and horror convention to be held in Halifax over Halloween weekend. The organising committee is comprised of volunteer staff with a variety of professional backgrounds but a shared passion for sci-fi. Celebrity guests include Walter Koenig, Denise Crosby, Kevin Murphy and Bill Corbett from Mystery Science Theater 3000 , and many more including authors such as PJ "The Softwire" Haarsma.
What are SFX doing?: SFX editor-in-chief Dave Bradley will be on hand, so if you're going look out for him at the opening party, and he'll also be hosting a traditional sci-fi trivia quiz on stage. Then he'll be introducing an exclusive screening of MST3K 's ninth season Devil Doll and Devil Fish episodes, and taking part in a late Geeks Vs Nerds debate.

Let us know if you're going to be at any of these, and be sure to come up and say hi - we don't bite (much). We realise that Novacon is also taking place soon (12-14 November in Nottingham) but we can't be everywhere sadly. Iain M Banks and Brian Aldiss are going to be at that one, so it sounds like a good one to go to if you're in the area. And don't forget, tickets are still available to our own event, the SFX Weekender , which takes place in February. Less than four months to go!
