After much speculation, Zack Snyder has made it official.
Gadot's most famous for her role in Fast Five and Fast & Furious 6 , and before that previously held the title of Miss Israel.
Article continues belowSnyder's optimistic that she's the perfect casting and will be able to hold her own against Henry Cavill's Superman and Ben Affleck's Batman.
“Wonder Woman is arguably one of the most powerful female characters of all time and a fan favorite in the DC Universe. Not only is Gal an amazing actress, but she also has that magical quality that makes her perfect for the role. We look forward to audiences discovering Gal in the first feature film incarnation of this beloved character,” Snyder told Variety .
It's still unclear as to whether Gadot will appear as the superheroic Amazon princess or her downtime alter-ego Diana Prince.
Man of Steel 2 / Batman vs Superman 2 is scheduled to arrive in cinemas July 17 2015.
