DICE 'definitely thinking about' Move and 3D support for Battlefield 3

In the latest issue of Official PlayStation Magazine UK, DICE general manager Karl Magnus Troedsson revealed that the developer is "definitely thinking about" including PlayStation Move and stereoscopic 3D support in Battlefield 3.

In the same feature, DICE art director Gustav Tilleby added, "Of course we look at what the others are doing. At the same time, we're looking at what we can improve. I think the technology we have is a step beyond what the others have."

The game, which is the first to utilize DICE's Frostbite 2 engine, has already stunned us with its fantastic lighting, character animations, and destructible terrain. 3D support, which Sony especially has been pushing as a groundbreaking feature of the PS3 and its 3D TVs (though the 360 supports 3D games as well), wouldn't be a shocker. We'd love to see how it looks with an extra D, though we'd expect the framerate to take a hit.

Additionally, after Killzone 3 successfully implemented Move support, the inclusion of optional motion control seems like a strong possibility.

Recently, Troedssonsaid thatFrostbite 2 is "a next-generation engine for current-generation platforms," and that "other shooters are treading water [where] Battlefield 3 innovates."

Frostbite 2, however, isn't the only 'next-gen current-gen' engine to be debuted recently - at GDC earlier this month, Epic Games showed off the next iteration of Unreal Engine 3, and it didn't fail to make our weird, curly shoulder hairs stand on end. Or maybe just mine.
