Amazon Prime Day gaming deals are kicking off as the big day starts tomorrow, so we're starting to see costs dropping in anticipation. Big discounts are on the way - but mostly because Amazon tends to artificially increase costs ahead of a saving to make the bargain feel bigger.

In terms of what we're likely to see, a lot of the action will revolve around games and accessories. More specifically, I anticipate many returning to the kinds of record-low prices we've experienced in the smaller sales earlier this year. Memorial Day yielded some solid discounts on controllers and Switch titles, for example, while Sony's Days of Play discounts have rolled back some of its price increases and offered up record-low prices on the previously ultra-premium PSVR 2.

With Amazon's Prime Day almost here, it's time to get moving. I'm rounding up all the biggest discounts you'll find ahead of the sale just below and everything I expect to see from Prime Day gaming deals in 2026 further down the page.

I've tracked prices, compared products, and hunted for extra deals for six years' worth of Prime Days now, and with Big Deal events thrown in that's double-digit events spread across my time as a dedicated Deals Editor at our sister site TechRadar and as Managing Editor of Hardware at GamesRadar+. I've been hands on with the tech you actually need to know about and I know where to find the biggest offers.

Insomniac Marvel's Spider-Man 2 (PS5)
Save $28.80
Insomniac Marvel's Spider-Man 2 (PS5): was $59.99 now $31.19 at Amazon

While we're not looking at a record low price here, it's only a couple of dollars off and is far, far better than the average cost we've been seeing over the past several months; it's usually anywhere between $37 and $45.

Nintendo Super Mario RPG (Nintendo Switch): was $59.99 now $33.99 at Amazon

I might be wrong, but I think this is a record low price! I've not seen Super Mario RPG for less, and price comparison suggests that the previous low was $34.73. With that in mind, now seems like a mighty fine time to grab a copy if you'd had your eye on this one.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild: was $59.99 now $43.99 at Woot!

This offer stands for anyone looking to finally dive into Breath of the Wild this Prime Day - Switch or Switch 2. Because there's a cheap upgrade to the full new version of the game (and the Switch 2 edition costs $69 by itself right now), you're still saving wherever you plan to play.

Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined is still fairly new on the shelves, but it hasn't been shy of a discount in its short life so far. Woot has the best deal I've seen yet on the PS5 edition, dropping the $59.99 launch price down to $39.99 - I usually see this one in the mid-$40s when it's on sale. This is the PS5 version, but you'll also find Switch copies here as well.

What to expect from Prime Day gaming deals 2026

Those on the hunt for Prime Day gaming deals this summer are casting a wide net, so to help you narrow your catch, we're rounding up everything we expect to see on a platform basis. You'll find our predictions for the biggest discounts in the worlds of PS5, Xbox, Nintendo Switch/Switch 2, and PC just below.

PS5

PS5 accessories on a table, including two DualSense controllers, a charging station and a headset

The recent US price increases for Sony hardware have put the upcoming Prime Day deals in an awkward spot. So much so that, following the brand's console-less Days of Play sale in May, I'm not expecting to see any discounts on the PS5 Slim, Digital, or Pro consoles this summer.

Those who don't already have a console would do best to keep a close eye on refurbished stock available direct from PlayStation, while those in the lucky position of already owning a device will be looking to games and the best PS5 accessories.

As we've seen in previous years, the biggest discounts are going to be reserved for those long-standing entries in the catalog, but I'm excited to see some major debut discounts on newer games like Saros, Resident Evil Requiem and Ghost of Yotei.

Unfortunately, some accessories are going to suffer the same fate as the consoles. SSDs have shot up in price over the last six months due to current component shortages. While you could previously find extra storage for about $100, rates have tripled in some cases. We'll still be hunting for the lowest SSD prices this month, but unless you absolutely have to upgrade, I'd recommend holding off for as long as possible.

Instead, the vast majority of PS5 action will take place in the gamepad arena this Prime Day. Razer and Scuf have both recently launched premium PS5 controllers and the Raiju V3 Pro has seen significant discounts already. The Scuf Omega is a little newer, but could see its first price cuts in Amazon's sale. Not only that, but the official DualSense Edge has been a little more lenient in recent months as well, giving way to a $30 discount over Days of Play.

In audio, there are three of the best PS5 headsets I'd be looking out for in particular. The SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Wireless has just been superceded by the Nova Pro Omni and is ripe for heavier discounts. The Turtle Beach Atlas 200 is fantastic value in the budget price range, and has been seeing its own wobbles recently. Finally, the SteelSeries Arctis Nova 5 offers an unrivalled mobile EQ preset experience with all the trappings of the luxury audio afforded to its more premium siblings.

Nintendo Switch

Hands holding Nintendo Switch 2 with a fan accessory while playing The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

The Nintendo Switch 2 is a two-sided coin right now. On the one hand we've got looming price increases pushing rates up to $499.99 for the handheld alone in September. On the other, the brand's choose-your-own game bundle is offering excellent value ahead of that deadline. It's unlikely we'll see a better offer than this on the latest release.

Of course, Prime Day Nintendo Switch deals are a lot more reliable when it comes to games anyway. While we generally don't see the kinds of discounts we would expect from Black Friday here, I still expect to see some $20 / £20 discounts on older Switch releases like Breath of the Wild, Mario Kart, and Super Mario Odyssey. Newer Switch 2 games walk a finer line, but with holiday titles like Pokemon Legends Z-A and Metroid Prime 4: Beyond aging a little further there could be some newer savings up for grabs.

There's also Nintendo Switch accessories to consider. Anything not compatible with the new Nintendo Switch 2 is already tanking in price. The Hori Split Pad Pro Attachment Set has dropped as low as $39.99 ($40 off $79.99) since the new device released, and the Genki Covert Dock is a Prime Day favorite ready to see similar savings.

It's still a little too early to expect discounts on first party Nintendo Switch 2 accessories - the Pro controller and Joy-Con will likely hold firm to their rock-solid MSRPs as they have done since launch. However, third party gadgets have started to see their rates slip recently. The Belkin Charging Case is far more amenable right now, thanks to the release of the newer Charging Case Pro.

The SteelSeries Arctis Nova 3 has seen its price chopped as low as $59.99 (at Woot) in recent months, representing excellent value from an audio perspective.

Watchlist:

Belkin Switch 2 Charging Case

Xbox

Xbox Series X

We haven't seen too many Xbox Series X deals on the shelves in the last few months. Microsoft's price increases have made these consoles particularly difficult to justify and savings are few and far between.

That means the majority of this year's Prime Day gaming deals for Xbox players will be focused on that magic Game Pass code. While discounts haven't been too appealing recently (the best we're generally able to find was $5 off a three-month subscription), these really are the holy grails of Xbox deals.

Thankfully, there's no shortage of kit. Official controllers are going to be the most interesting sellers here; the cheaper Xbox Wireless Controller, mid-range Xbox Elite Series 2 Core Controller, and premium Xbox Elite Series 2 Controller are the stars of this year's show.

Amazon Prime Day gaming deals: FAQ

Nintendo Switch 2 with gaming mice in front of it on a wooden table

When will Amazon Prime Day gaming deals start?

Amazon Prime Day gaming deals will officially kick off on June 23 this year, running for a four-day event across June 26. However, I'm already seeing a dedicated 'early Prime Day deals' section on the site's homepage and often see offers starting to creep onto the shelves in the weeks leading up to the main event.

Do you need a membership for Prime Day gaming deals?

Yes, you will need a Prime membership to take advantage of the majority of this year's fall sale. However, you can easily pick up a 30-day free trial to comfortably see you through the event without spending a penny (provided you cancel your subscription before the recurring payment). As well as that, it's also worth noting that many retailers like Best Buy and Walmart in the US (and Currys and Very in the UK) often attempt to price match Amazon's biggest Prime Day gaming deals.

Amazon Prime | 30-day free trial
You will need an Amazon Prime membership to take part in this year's sale, but the retailer regularly offers free trials to get as many eyes on its site as possible. This 30 day offer will see you all the way through the sale without paying a cent!

Managing Editor - Hardware

Managing Editor of Hardware at GamesRadar+, I originally landed in hardware at our sister site TechRadar before moving over to GamesRadar. In between, I've written for Tom’s Guide, Wireframe, The Indie Game Website and That Video Game Blog, covering everything from the PS5 launch to the Apple Pencil. Now, i'm focused on Nintendo Switch, gaming laptops (and the keyboards, headsets and mice that come with them), PS5, and trying to find the perfect projector.
