A new contender has entered the Massively Online Battle Arena (MOBA) genre. Check out Realm of the Titans, Aeria Games’ answer to the DotAs of the world. Fans of Defense of the Ancients, League of Legends, or Heroes of Newerth, will feel familiar with Realm of the Titans’ controls and layout right off from the bat. That’s partly because the game was made by pro DotA players. In this PvP-centric title, Titans clash over control of the map as you try to push forward into your enemies’ base. MOBA standards like pushing lanes, killing creeps, and assassinating other players are all here.
Although it’s too early to tell at this early stage how Realm of the Titans will stack up against other popular MOBAs, the few matches we played felt very solid with a nice mix of hero units and unique powers. It also stands out in regards to how much camera control the game offers players. We’re so used to fixed camera angles or cameras that always snap back to the traditional isometric angle common in MOBA games.
