Nintendo has just released a new Metroid: Other M trailer. Titled ‘Metroid and Me,’ the short video walks you through the history of the series from its NES origins to the upcoming title for the Wii. It’s narrated by the voice actor who plays Samus Aran in the new game and is a must-watch for any Metroid fan. Check it out!

    haha i'm still calling it zeebs no matter how they pronounce it, but yeah prime was in between the first metroid and super metroid so they could still easily be a part of this video, but maybe they were going for the classic metroid feel as opposed to the newer one, something to do with 2d games only maybe?

    When is Nintendo going to finally continue the story left off in Metroid Fusion? Not that I'm complaining about these interquels, because the Metroid series is probably my favourite in gaming but...it's been 8 years since Fusion.

    I think her voice is fine. I think it's fitting for a young Samus and since the game may cover her younger years, this is good. Also, the beginning of this video reminds me a little of Linda Hamilton's intro to Terminator 2. I thought she was gonna go all "3 Billion metroid lives ended on sr388 on August 29th, 1997" there for a minute.

    She sounds like Samus looks. Even if she doesn't lay on the gruffnes, she sounds okay. I'm more irked by her stiff delivery. It's obvious the video dialogue is translated.

    @slimjim: I'm actually glad the didn't get Jannifer Hale. In both MGS and ToS, her voice acting was bad. She sounded half-asleep in both games. Still, I'd have preferred a voice actress with a more mature voice than the one they picked.

    The English voice-over isn't bad, but I agree with ChiChiRocket, that Jennifer Hale (Naomi Hunter from Metal Gear Solid for the more poorly uninformed) should have done Samus (again). Jennifer Hale is a goddess when it comes to voice acting (and Mark Hamill is a god of voice acting).

    Wrong! You were right about Zero Mission, but besides that (and obviously Other M), all the Metroid games are chronological.

    They had Jennifer Hale for Metroid Prime 3 (Female Commander Shepard for the uninformed), I can't believe they didn't use her for Other M. I can totally imagine her doing Samus's voice.

    @c03n3nnj0 Wrong! Zero mission was a remake of the original, and Prime took place before II. Other M takes place right after Super and before Fusion. Sorry but I do it from the obssesive Metroid fanboy within. Feel free to correct me anyone, as I'd hate to be misinformed.

    The story is set after the events of Super Metroid (I'm pretty sure) so recapping any prime or zero mission makes no sense, as it hasn't happened yet...

    kinda left out a lot of story though dont you think? all three metroid primes, zero mission and fusion, also hunters but that, well that isnt real im sorry. But even so i almost cried, i wonder if the exclusion of prime was to try and distance itself so other m wont be compared to them
