Correction to the above side quest, it is called Silban's Experiments, not Swamp Corruption, but still equally awesome. I found another one in Act 2. This one gives you +10 to both health and magic. Talk to Randval after he comes back from his recon mission. You will pick up the quest "Water of Life or Death". Something about this game has me hooked. Scratches all the 3rd person action RPG itches.

You missed one of the most important side quests in Act 1: Swamp Corruption. Talk to Silban after you free Edwen and he will give you a quest to gather corrupted plants from the place Edwen was held captive. Upon completion you get +5 to health. Complete it a second time to get another +15 health. Huge help when playing on Captain difficulty. There are also quests to upgrade your traps in Act 1. Talk to your elf companion and select the dialogue option discussing traps.
