Telltale's season two of The Walking Dead is coming, just not soon enough. To tide us over though, Telltale has announced The Walking Dead: 400 Days, a piece of downloadable content for season one for $4.99. It features a cast of entirely new characters, but you really should play it after having completed season one. Only the first episode is required before you can play the DLC but seriously, it was our game of the year last year and there's no excuse not to play it.

At E3, Telltale showed us the storyline of one of the five characters you can choose to play as. Vince, a young man who tries to get away from murder gets caught, and is now sitting on a prisoner transport bus that is stuck in traffic. Sounds like your typical day ho-hum day as a criminal but things go south real fast. As the title implies, the stories will cover the span of 400 days (maybe not EACH day) beginning from the start of the infection.

Keeping true to what made the series so special to begin with, the demo was a mix of dialogue choices and intense moments. Let's just say difficult decisions had to have been made, and someone may or may not have lost a foot in the process. While some of these story elements do seem very similar to season one, Telltale did tell us that the other characters are varied. So you won't be playing as a convicted criminal all the time.

While the format of the gameplay stayed the same, we did notice that characters reacted when you're trying to make your decision. Granted, in this case we were waving a gun around at people and that definitely brought on a reaction. The game looked great running on the Xbox 360, and will head to every platform that The Walking Dead is currently on, which includes Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, iOS, PC, Mac, and PS Vita a little later. You will be able to purchase Season one which will include 400 days in the Vita version. The DLC is set to hit in July.
