She's taken on ancient organizations, perilous environments, and some very angry wildlife, but Lara Croft has persevered through it all. And today, her reward is a Golden Joystick. Rise of the Tomb Raider is the 2016 Golden Joystick Awards' winner for Xbox Game of the Year.
Ms. Croft was up against some serious competition this year, with the full range of nominees including Ark: Survival Evolved, Elite: Dangerous, Forza Horizon 3, Forza Motorsport 6, Halo 5: Guardians, Inside, Killer Instinct Season 3, Quantum Break, and ReCore.
And if you're thinking "Hey, some of those came out in 2015, including Rise of the Tomb Raider!" keep in mind that voting for the 2015 Golden Joysticks started in September, so anything released in the final quarter of 2015 got bumped to this year's ceremony. But hey, at least now we know who would win in a fight between Master Chief and Lara Croft, right?
