Ridley Scott may direct Blade Runner sequel after all

It was only last week that reports were circulating claiming that Ridley Scott would definitely not be directing the long-awaited Blade Runner sequel, but the man himself has now suggested that he may step back behind the camera after all…

"I don’t know about that," said Scott, when asked by Yahoo! whether he would be turning over the project to a new pair of hands, before going on to explain how hard it would be to take a step back.

"The script is very, very good," he continues. "Very good. I wouldn’t know [what sort of director we’d want]. It’s a hard one to track because it’s a very personal piece of my work."

"[The original] may be one of the most personal pieces I did. I got so beaten up for it, I said I’d never try that again. But here we are. It’s sitting there ready to be made…"

If Scott does eventually decide to pass on the reins, he will still be involved in a production capacity, but from the way he's talking here, we wouldn't be surprised to see him back in the hotseat once more…
