London Anime Con this weekend!

Have you got your ticket yet for this weekend's anime convention?

What?

An awesome bi-annual anime and gaming convention - this year with more than 1000 expected attendees.

When?

30 June to 1 July. That's this weekend!

Where?

The Rocket Complex , 166 Holloway Road, London (it’s part of the London Metropolitan University).

How much?

It’s £10 on door each day, or £15 for the whole weekend, if you register and pre-pay on the website. If you turn up after 6pm, it’s only £5 and still gives you still seven hours of partying!

What do I need to bring?

A valid ID, as it’s an 18+ event.

Highlights?

Meet KimonoTime who’s famous for singing and dancing to popular Japanese and Anime tunes and a samurai descendent; the Japanese culture expert Akemi Solloway who will talk about the history of kimono.

If your dress style makes most ordinary people turn their heads, then sign up to the Otaku Fashion Show on Saturday for your chance to be scouted by Spirit Models, an alternative and commercial modelling agency in the UK.

There will also be a Cosplay Masquarade on Sunday. Self-made costumes will be eligible for a prize but you should turn up one hour early for judges to assess your outfit!

If you have an awesome skill that you’d like to show off but it doesn’t quite fit these categories, do not despair! The LAC talent show on Saturday is for singers, dancers, jogglers, balancers, origami masters and any other skilled people. Groups also accepted. There may not be a mic though, so make sure you record any audio before the event.

You want more?!

Of course, an event like this wouldn’t be complete without anime screenings, manga workshops, card and video game tournaments, cosplayer auction live bands, pub quiz, a Nintendisco and karaoke, so get ready to party until 1am in the morning!
