While the online chatter for Batman v Superman pre release was very divisive, the opposite is true for Warner Bros' other comic book movie of 2016 - Suicide Squad. Many were won over by the incredible trailer earlier this year, and Jared Leto's Joker featured in many of that promo's best moments.
One character we haven't seen yet is Monster T, who will be played by Common. While promoting Barbershop: The Next Cut, the actor spoke to Collider about Jared Leto's well documented method acting on set:

"I saw him at the Oscars", Common continued. "It was almost the first time meeting each other. But I was standing in my space, being the character, so I love that Jared Leto was doing that. The scene we have... Some of it, we got to improv on, but I don’t know what they’ll keep. When you’re in that space, where another actor is that person, you can just live and let it be. I was really grateful."
In addition to confirming the rumoured reshoots for the film, Common took some time to heap praise on his director David Ayer while promising a much different comic book movie than what we've seen before: "I’ve gotta say, one of the major reasons I knew it would be something cool and could be special is (director) David Ayer. I love his work. I got to work with him on Street Kings, but then I watched End of Watch and the dude is good, man."
"I feel like, with so many comic book movies being made, I wanted to be a part of one of the ones that is special. And if I’m going to be a part of a comic movie, I don’t want it to just be the same story, where you can just place the new name and it’s the same story that you see."
We'll find out just how special Suicide Squad is when it's finally released in cinemas later this year.
Directed by David Ayer and starring Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Jared Leto, Viola Davis, Common, Jai Courtney, and Joel Kinnaman, Suicide Squad will open in the UK and US on August 5, 2016.
