Ben Hardy joins X-Men: Apocalypse

X-Men: Apocalypse continues to add young talent to its growing cast list, with British actor Ben Hardy the latest to join the production in an undisclosed role.

Hardy is best known for his work on UK soap opera EastEnders, and apparently landed on Bryan Singer’s radar after auditioning for the role of young Cyclops.

According to The Wrap, Hardy will take “a key, as-yet-undisclosed” part in the new film, with the online rumour mill already abuzz with claims that he will play Angel.

The report goes on to state that that rumour has been denied by production insiders, although how much of that is smoke and mirrors remains to be seen.

Hardy will join fellow franchise newcomers Sophie Turner, Tye Sheridan, Alexandra Shipp and Kodi Smit-McPhee on the new film, which will open in the UK on 19 May 2016 and the US on 27 May 2016.
