The Assassination of Jean-Paul Marat 

If you're familiar with Jean-Paul Marat, you'll already know whodunnit, but if you didn't study French revolutionary history, get ready for another romp through 8 locations to track down the culprit!

It's worth noting that the body in this particular investigation isn't a clue, though it will be added to your case file.

Location #1 - Marat's House

Clue #1 - List of Girondin Traitors

This is on the board placed over the bath,

Clue #2 - Empty Bottle of Tonic

Examine the bottle on the floor by the window to discover a new lcoation.

Clue #3 - Bloody Knife

The knife is on the floor in front of the painter.

Clue #4 - Statement of Jacques-Louis David 

This chap is neither use nor ornament, but talk to him to add his pointless statement to your case file.

Clue #5 - The Friend of the People

Check the bench for the newspaper for an example of one of Jean-Paul Marat's many contributions to the cause.

Clue #6 - Letter from Charlotte Corday

This can be found right next to the window.

Location #2 - Street

Clue #1 - Statement of Jacqueline Perel

Jacqueline will hit you with a juicy nugget of gossip.

Clue #2 - Statement of Chantelle Naves

Chantelle's statement will provide you with another lead.

Clue #3 - Statement of Madeline Leclair

Talk to Madeline to add her statement to the case file.

Location #3 - Apothecary Stall

Clue #1 - Statement of the Apothecary

Speaking to the Apothecary will uncover another lead.

Location #4 - Merchant Stall

Clue #1 - Providence Hotel Handbill

Check the building front at the merchant stall for the handbill that will add another location for you to investigate.

Clue #2 - Statement of the Merchant

Talk to the merchant, who will also point you in the direction of the hotel.

Location #5 - Sewer

As with all of the subterranean locations in the game, make your way to the nearest 'underground' icon and look for an entrance.

This is what you're looking for. Be warned that if you've already started picking off the ruffians throughout the city, you'll encounter a few in the sewer who will be hostile, so kill them on sight.

Clue #1 - Corpse

Another grisly murder, but Arno doesn't care about hobos, so just leave him down here.

Clue #2 - Letter from Simmone Evrard

Check the floor around the fire to find the letter.

Location #6 - Hotel

Clue #1 - Plutarch's Parallel Lives

The book is on the end of the desk.

Clue #2 - Letter from Charlotte Corday

The letter is also on the desk.

Location #7 - Prison

Clue #1 - Statement of Albertine Marat

Talk to Jean-Paul's sister for your first statement in this area.

Clue #2 - Statement of Jasper Lasalle

Wow. An outright confession. But don't get too excited just yet.

Clue #3 - Statement of Simmone Evrard

Another spurned woman who doesn't seem overly saddened by Marat's death.

Clue #4 - Statement of Theron Brignac

Brignac will give you the last location in the investigation.

Clue #5 - Charlotte Corday

A second confession. When it rains, it pours!

Location #8 - Shop

Clue #1 - Statement of Dominique Bûches

Speak to Dominique for the last clue in the case.

Whodunnit?

A quick google search of Jean-Paul Marat will reveal the name of the murderer - Charlotte Corday.

Head on over to the prison after you find Marat in his tub to confront Charlotte and take her from the prison to... another prison, that seems a lot less secure.
