Ryan Reynolds is the Merc With A Mouth in first trailer for Deadpool

Following a rapturous reception at this year's Comic-Con, Fox has now debuted the first full red-band trailer for Deadpool online. Everyone's favorite mouthy comic book antihero is played once more by Ryan Reynolds, who returns in his solo movie to kick more butt and bust out a string of R-rated one-liners.

Story-wise the film functions like a soft reboot for those familiar with his scene-stealing turn in X-Men Origins: Wolverine as the deadpan mercenary-turned-mute. Special Forces operative Wade Wilson undergoes a shady experiment that imbues him with superhuman healing powers and a superhuman sense of humor, and winds up adopting the name 'Deadpool' to better suit his identity. Needless to say, he's on a mission to find out who messed with him. Check out the trailer below.

As expected, Deadpool and his cohorts swear, shoot and shag their way through this NSFW trailer that makes the most of the movie's hard-earned R-rating. Badass marksmanship and biting humor - the best of which is saved for last between Deadpool and his buddy Weasel - set this comic book movie apart from the crowd. Directed by Tim Miller and written by Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese, Deadpool opens February 12, 2016. Morena Baccarin, Ed Skrein, T.J. Miller, Gina Carano and Brianna Hildebrand co-star.
