There’s talent out there – and we want to see more

A little while ago , we put a call out for submissions for small press reviews in Comic Heroes . We were hoping that maybe a few enterprising souls would get in touch, and perhaps we’d get enough material sent in to steal half a page of our reviews section back from the big boys.

In the end, the response was so good, and of such an overwhelmingly terrific quality, that we filled two pages of Comic Heroes 9 with small press reviews. By Jiminy, we thought to ourselves, we could be on to something here. You writers and artists out there, toiling away for the sheer love of it, are a truly talented bunch.

From the sex and soccer shenanigans of Scorgasm and the rough and ready rock and roll of The Ballad Of Frank Sartre , to the delightfully twisted denizens of Roachwell and the three minute psyche pop genius of Hitsville UK , we were blown away by the talent and sheer invention that’s out there in the British small press scene.

The bar has been well and truly set, and now that we’ve started, we’re hungry for more. It doesn’t matter whether you’ve put together 10 pages for distribution amongst your mates or have gone the whole hog and printed up a run of full colour 24 page beauties to sell at cons – we want to see your comics.

So, peopleof the small press, send us your work. Bear in mind, this isn’t a call for artwork or scripts, and we’re only looking for finished work. If you’re running a webcomic, send a link to rob.power@futurenet.com and we’ll take a look. For everyone else, please send copies (along with contact details) to:
