New trailer lands for Doctor Who season nine

The BBC has unveiled a new official trailer for the forthcoming ninth season of Doctor Who, and it finds Peter Capaldi’s Time Lord in confrontational form. “I’m The Doctor,” he booms, “and I save people!” That’s us told, then…

The new trailer features a good helping of new monsters, alongside returning villain Missy, while there’s also a hint at the deepening bond between the Doctor and Clara, not to mention several glimpses of Maisie Williams’ character. Quite simply, it looks set to be a storming series!

Check out the new trailer, below…

Plot details remain determinedly sketchy, although we do know that Vikings will feature in one episode, Reece Shearsmith will be one of the guest stars, and that according to Capaldi, the season will possess an “epic sweep”. Sounds good enough for us. The Doctor will return on September 19 2015, and we can hardly wait…
