Where to find Creature Enamel in Subnautica 2
Subnautica 2 Creature Enamel is an important crafting material, but you could be looking for it in the wrong place
Let's face it, Subnautica 2 Creature Enamel is named in such a way that you are likely to think it comes from a creature. I thought that, so don't worry if you did too. Well, the name isn't that misleading, as Creature Enamel is a deposit left by creatures - namely those pesky Needler Mangos - not something you get from them directly.
The giveaway to finding it in Subnautica 2 is spotting large, ivory-colored needles sticking out of surfaces - bingo, you've found Creature Enamel. After all, when you remember that there's no violence in the sequel, it makes sense can't attack fish to get it.
Where to find Subnautica 2 Creature Enamel
Subnautica 2 Creature Enamel deposits are found in quite a lot of the area surrounding the Alien Ruins. The best place to look first, though, is a monolith just 200m south of the Alien Ruins Research Center.
Unfortunately, but naturally, this rocky outcropping is swarming with Needlers, waiting to damage both you and your tadpole, so get as close as possible to the enamel deposits, collect them with your Subnautica 2 Sonic Resonator quickly, and get out of the area. Make sure you've got plenty of inventory space clear - you can always leave some items in the Research Center lockers.
Creature Enamel is a vital ingredient in making Enameled Glass, which is found in a multitude of mid-game crafting recipes, including the depth module for your Subnautica 2 tadpole, allowing you to reach greater depths with ease.

After studying Music and Lifestyle journalism and writing a column for a stylish lifestyle magazine in her hometown of Brighton, Danielle finally found her feet writing about videogames for WePC in 2021. She then honed her guides writing skills at PCGamesN between 2022 and 2026, when she took those skills to GamesRadar as a Guides Writer. Danielle's guides are a safe space - she definitely got stuck before you did, which is why she's perfect for the job. When she's not replaying the Silent Hill games or a more up-to-date single-player horror game, you'll find her fighting for her life in Dead by Daylight, tending to a garden in Stardew Valley, or doing both in Minecraft.
