With The Blood of Dawnwalker release date locked in for September, the countdown is officially on for the new vampire RPG from The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077 veterans
The Blood of Dawnwalker release date has been set for September 3, 2026. The news was confirmed during a 'Road to Launch' stream hosted by developer Rebel Wolves and publisher Bandai Namco Entertainment on April 28.
The livestream offered up a brand new look at the upcoming RPG in action, almost eight months since its last showing. The presentation outlined just how far Blood of Dawnwalker has come, demonstrating further refinements to the hybrid human-daywalker combat systems and improvements to visual fidelity ahead of the September release date.
The Blood of Dawnwalker is set to land at a competitive time for the RPG market. Playground Games' Fable reboot is expected to launch this fall, while there are a smattering of more focused action-RPG offerings in Beast of Reincarnation (August 4) and Phantom Blade Zero (September 9). Of course, with Blood of Dawnwalker offering something pretty damned unique – an open-world game where every choice has true consequences, with decisions made rippling outward across the story – Rebel Wolves will be hoping its debut can turn some heads.

It's an ambitious undertaking for the studio, although the fact that it's a project coming from a team of former CDPR veterans (including the game director of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, as well as a host of quest designers from across the Witcher series and Cyberpunk 2077) is giving us some belief that The Blood of Dawnwalker will be able to achieve its ambitions.
Naturally, with The Blood of Dawnwalker set for release this September, we won't have long to wait to find out. I recently flew out to Poland to visit the Rebel Wolves base of operations, interview the development team, and see an extended look at the game in action. While I was there, game director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz noted that press will likely have the opportunity to go hands-on with Blood of Dawnwalker in June, so here's hoping it won't be all that long before we can give you some direct impressions of how this RPG actually feels to play!
While we wait for that, be sure to check out all of our exclusive Blood of Dawnwalker coverage, and be sure to keep checking back in on GamesRadar+ this week as we bring you analysis, interviews, and more around this exciting new RPG.
