A prominent Resident Evil leaker claims that the upcoming Resident Evil Requiem DLC will feature a series favorite in some way, which is another win for the Leon shippers, depending on who you're rooting for.
Last week, Capcom confirmed that Resident Evil Requiem will be getting a DLC expansion, which felt like an inevitability anyway – especially when the game has already sold 6 million copies – but it's good to have it in writing. Naturally, since then, fans have been speculating over what the DLC may actually be. Could it be a continuation of Leon's or Grace's story? A returning character like Claire or Jill visiting Raccoon City during the story of Requiem? Or pull a Resident Evil 7 and Village and give us an entirely new protagonist.
Potential Resident Evil Requiem DLC spoilers to follow
Leaker DuskGolem – who is typically on point when it comes to Resident Evil leaks, at least – says there was a public slip-up that seems to imply that Ada Wong will be a part of Resident Evil Requiem's DLC. The leaker hasn't revealed exactly what the mistake was, but says they think it would get someone in trouble and chose not to share the specific details.
DuskGolem previously said they had heard a rumor that the DLC would focus on Leon Kennedy, which they speculated could be set during the events of Resident Evil 7 and Village. And naturally, since Leon has seemingly gotten married between Resident Evil 6 and Requiem, mention of Ada Wong being included is a big win for the Ada x Leon shippers.
Over on the GamingLeaksAndRumours subreddit discussing DuskGolem's comments, one user notes that it's "Exciting times for Aeon fans. Also this gives the 'Leon is most likely married to Ada' people some gas." While another reckons it will reveal that Ada is "Leon’s sugar mama. She got him the car."
While another user notes that Ada Wong is definitely becoming the equivalent of Street Fighter's Akuma and Sagat, or Guilty Gear's Baiken, saying, "Been saying that, Ada is 100% DLC bait. People will buy the DLC, obviously because she's very popular, but also to know if Leon is married to her or not lol. Capcom know exactly that." Others, meanwhile, talk about how Ada has been a persistent part of Leon-led Resident Evil games, and that "Requiem really did feel like it was missing something with her exclusion."
Regardless, it's looking for bad news for the Claire X Leon fans in the ongoing Resident Evil shipping war. Especially when Requiem director Koshi Nakanishi told Eurogamer that the answer to who Leon is married to will "become clear someday." In a future DLC, perhaps? Wouldn't that be something.
