The Sableye Pokopia event is one of the game's Limited-Time Events, which allow you to invite new Pokemon to move in, increasing your Pokedex even past the 300+ available at launch. Following the Hoppip event, these special occasions are taking place frequently, and I certainly hope this schedule continues.
Never mind the future, though - I'm super excited that the adorable Sableye is next on the docket, and while this means only one new Pokemon is coming to town, there's still plenty of fun to be had with them. Here's when you can meet Sableye for the first time, and how to get them to stay in your Pokopia town.
Pokopia Sableye event date and time
The Sableye Pokopia Limited-Time Event takes place between Wednesday, April 29, and Thursday, May 14, 2026, starting and ending at 5am local time. This means that, no matter where you are in the world, the event starts at 5am in your area.
Since each in-game day starts at 5am local time in Pokopia, and the game works on a real-time calendar, we can expect every Pokopia event to work this way.

Just like the More Spores for Hoppip event that came before it, the Sableye Pokopia event sees the Darkness Pokemon arrive in your town for the first time, and they'll ask you to collect a specific resource. This time, it's Red Crystal Fragments, and you'll be able to trade these with Sableye inside any restored Pokemon Center.
The items up for trade relate to new event habitats, and are the only way to give Sableye their own home. They also make great decorative items to boot, and, since they're event-exclusive, it's worth getting them all while you can.
How to get Red Crystal Fragments
Red Crystal Fragments are only available on Pokopia Dream Islands, so you'll need to have met Drifloon and have found at least one Pokemon Doll to be able to travel to one.
I'd recommend interacting with an Eevee, Clefairy, or Arcanine doll, since Red Crystals appear to spawn near and inside cave entrances, and these are the Dream Islands most likely to have underground caverns. Get Drifloon to take you to these islands during the event, and you'll be able to break Red Crystals with your normal Rock Punch ability to gather the Fragments.
You can exchange Red Crystal Fragments for the following items:

- Camping Cooking Pot - 10x Fragments
- Adventure Kit - 10x Fragments
- Tent Kit - 10x Fragments
Pokopia Sableye habitat
Once you have enough Red Crystal Fragments, you can trade for certain items inside any restored Pokemon Center. If you find that the shop isn't open, you may need to interact with Sableye first.
Sableye's event habitat is the Treasure-hunting set, and requires the Adventure Kit, Map and Compass, and Treasure items, all available via trading with Sableye during the event. Arrange them in an L-shape to create the habitat, and you'll be able to invite Sableye to move in once the event is over.
You can time-travel to this event whenever you want, but I wouldn't recommend doing that in case it breaks your game. There's currently no evidence to suggest that it will, but just think of all that hard work you've done.
Instead, if you miss the event or can't play when it takes place, there is another way to give Sableye a home. If you can visit a friend or other player who has the event habitat items, you can take a picture of the items with object mode enabled, and use these in the Pokemon Center 3D printer back at home to recreate the items. Much safer than time traveling.
