Monster Hunter Wilds has received a new patch on PC, and it looks like this is finally the one that does the trick.

Capcom detailed the new patch in a post on the Monster Hunter Wilds Steam news page. Firstly, Capcom acknowledged the bug that caused the game to run better in base camp when a player owned all of the game's DLC, saying, "After receiving user reports, our internal testing confirmed that CPU load could increase around the Support Desk at Base Camp or the Grand Hub" and that "This is an unintended bug and will be resolved with this update."

Monster Hunter fan account MidnightBoshi on Twitter posted "this game runs like BUTTER its impressive how much more fun this game can become once it can actually runs with decent graphics! My graphics are on High and for the first time ever it was a Steady 60 to 70 frames the entier [sic] hunt!" adding, "THEY DID IT!"

Another fan, called @0RO_KUR0, adds, "I'm actually glad Capcom continues to give this game support in spite of everything. "

While a recent Steam review says "main problem with the game was poor performance, new update really improved it. Nearly doubled my fps from about 40 to 70." Another user reports that the game is "actually playable on my Steam Deck now," which is wild to think about considering the best PCs were struggling with it all year. So hopefully by the time the eventual G Rank expansion drops the performance issues will be a distant memory.

Monster Hunter Wilds has sold 11 million copies, Capcom says, but it's barely clinging to the best-seller list thanks to the likes of Resident Evil and Devil May Cry.
