I've been excited for Outbound for a long time, and this new trailer from the Future Games Show Spring Showcase powered by HyperX (which just so happens to reveal the long-awaited release date) manages to capture everything about why it's so appealing.
With crafting, exploration, co-op gameplay, pettable dogs, and VW Camper-inspired wheels to cram it all into, there's definitely a reason why Outbound has amassed more than a million Steam wishlists.
Dropping April 23, 2026, Outbound is launching on PS5, Xbox Series X, Switch, Switch 2, and on PC via Steam and Epic Games.
If you're not familiar with Outbound, this is a co-op crafting game where you can build a home with up to four online friends that just so happens to fold up into a camper van. Set in a utopian near future (isn't it nice to not write dystopian for a change), it's an exploration game at heart, but one where you start with an empty camper van and then work towards building the home of your dreams on wheels.
With the added challenge of building new technologies, including power for your home, you'll also have to navigate new landscapes and environmental challenges as you explore. It's all about building, growing, crafting, creating and discovering what this bright sunny world has to offer.
Oh and there's a dog to adopt too, who'll help you if you train them, feed them and give them well-earned scritches.
You can wishlist Outbound on Steam now ahead of launch next month on PS5, Xbox Series X, Switch, Switch 2, and PC.
